at some point, using linux-asahi-edge with gpu, I've started getting this issue where sometimes an application window will just stop redrawing, and the only way to fix it is to relaunch the window. for example, in firefox, I can open a new window and the new window will work fine, while the hung window will stay hung forever (it doesn't seem to
<Retr0id>
actually hang though, merely stop redrawing). Once it starts happening, it seems to happen more frequently until I reboot. Is this a known issue?
<Retr0id>
compassion, it's possible to get away without rebooting by rmmod'ing `spi-hid-apple-of` and then modprobing it again (note that you'll want to do both operations as a oneliner because your keyboard will stop working the moment you rmmod!)

I mean, in any case, the screen wouldn't even usually maximize on mac os beyond the camera line as far as I remember, so if anything, we are even using more of the screen, no one cares about titles, really!

And for better or for worse, here is a last thing to notice! With corners on, the KDE bar perfectly matches the display format if you don't pull it completely across the screen and instead squish it, meaning reducing the width of it
eroc1990 has joined #asahi

So the display looks kind recursive, which is cool

*kinda
<waldi>
now i need to modify gnome-shell to avoid the notch
<bcrumb>
I think a real programming challenge would be to have windows "flow" around the notch

do not use apple_dcp.show_notch=1 as excuse for submitting custom notch workarounds to any software project
<jannau>
if it can be handled with configuration it's fine as long as nobody suggest to make that configuration the default for apple devices with notch

Hello, I notice that the Asahi Linux Alarm install seems to use iwd by default for the network backend instead of network_supplicant unlike my other systems (PEAP network). Is this some intentional change or is it networkmanager/arch defaults changing?
<Questioner>
I've got it all working after that change, as it seems that iwd does not like PEAP networks
