<marex>
img is really just ... awful ... I have GX6250 here, but of course, no compatible firmware and img won't provide compatible one
<DavidHeidelberg[m]>
marex: why not?
<marex>
DavidHeidelberg[m]: because they don't want to, go away
<marex>
it is apparently hard to build firmware
<DavidHeidelberg[m]>
marex: if you mail them, can u CC me? I recently spoke with guy from IMG who was promising heaven with stars (modré z nebe), so maybe I can "ask him" to move it
<marex>
DavidHeidelberg[m]: I am really just depressed, considering how I tried basically anything I could to test their stuff on the GX6250 I have here ... but then, I hit this wall of unhelpfulness
<alyssa>
There's not much to test yet..
<marex>
alyssa: even that triangle demo would be nice
<marex>
but really, I am just unhappy how they expect people to review their patches, but when someone asks them for a compatible firmware to test it, they have billion reasons to tell one off
<alyssa>
OK

(and yes, I would really like to see a triangle on this hardware which was here for like 5 years or so ... and the GPU was unusable ever since I unpacked it :) )

well if it's a triangle on powervr you're after
<alyssa>
i hear the apple m1 is getting a mesa driver
<marex>
alyssa: I had a look at some of the stuff around rust, it's still in my watch list
<marex>
truly impressive, that
<marex>
and yep, I noticed someone mentioning that the m1 is somehow related to pvr

"M1" is the marketing name for "H13G", which uses the "G13G" GPU based on the AGX architecture
<alyssa>
Early AGX architectures were RGX with a different ISA, it seems.
<alyssa>
dcbaker: I backported a pile of panfrost genxml stuff into src/intel/genxml
<alyssa>
so that can now almost consume Asahi XMLs
<alyssa>
(and with more changes, panfrost XMLs)
<alyssa>
and it has static unpack/printing support
<alyssa>
which Intel notably lacks (in favour of the runtime XML parsing thing)
<karolherbst>
though maybe I am actually doing crocus or r600 first.. for the latter I wouldn't be surprised if one of those just happened to find their ways to my hands on XDC or Fosdem

At one point I’d switched this over to using cmake for finding clang, I think that was to solve this problem…. But obviously that never landed…

I was recently checking which controllers I have here, the DWC3 on MX8MP triggers it and fails, CI HDRC on MX8MM does not trigger it and not fail
<marex>
I have something with DWC2 here too, still need to check
<marex>
but I dont think i have anything with the other USB3 controllers that are supported (Cadence one in MX8Q or the MTU3 in I think mediatek?)
<marex>
so currently I dont know whether thats a specific quirk of the DWC3 or its something common to USB3.0 support in uboot
<marex>
and the argument about usb2.0 controllers not being affected is also not particularly strong
