<MrCooper> eric_engestrom: you remembered correctly :) see https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/cerbero/-/blob/main/.gitlab-ci.yml
<MrCooper> alatiera_afk[m] might be able to answer questions about it, or refer you to someone who can
<eric_engestrom> MrCooper: thanks! I only have time for a quick look right now, but I guess the main question is: would it be ok to use the gst-macos-* runners in mesa?
<eric_engestrom> (question for alatiera probably)
<MrCooper> and/or __tim, yeah

<__tim> eric_engestrom, it's ok in principle of course, but depends what kind of workload you're thinking of. They are old macminis and limited cycles to go around overall :)
<__tim> probably ok for builds, but running long test suites 200x a day would be another matter :)

<eric_engestrom> for now it would just be builds + unit tests (~10-15 sec, negligible next to the build), but ideally/long term it would be good to run the same test suites the other OSes get, but I guess we'll need to get mesa runners for that

<eric_engestrom> are those just manually managed machines where you installed gitlab-runner? or are they provisioned at eg. hetzner?

<__tim> they're on macstadium
<__tim> gitlab-runner uses VMs there (instead of docker) and those VM images need to be created manually aiui
<__tim> Hetzner has M1s, and we'd love to switch to those, but last I checked there were problems with virtualization (can't run macos guest on macos host on M1s or something)
<__tim> don't know if that's changed yet

<eric_engestrom> for mesa, having an actual m1/m2 will be important in the next few months as the linux gpu driver reaches the point where running test suites becomes worth it
thaller has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<eric_engestrom> daniels/danvet: I have no idea what the load would be if we did that, and hence how much we'd need, and what the x.org budget looks like, but would it theoretically be reasonable to do that?
<eric_engestrom> (again, not for several months, I'm just thinking about the future)
