<eric_engestrom> windows runners seem to have issues
<eric_engestrom> https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/jobs/31330773 for instance, it's been trying to checkout the git repo (after successfully fetching) for an hour
<eric_engestrom> jenatali: ^
<__tim> I see jobs going through fine on that runner, maybe just cancel and re-try?
<eric_engestrom> it already timed out, so we'll just re-assign and see
<eric_engestrom> thanks for having a look :)
<eric_engestrom> (marge timed out, I mean)

<bentiss> daniels, DavidHeidelberg[m], gallo[m]: we still have recent jobs talking to the old minio server -> https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/jobs/31339654 any idea what could be wrong?
<bentiss> actually... this is for staging/22.3, so kind of expected...
<DavidHeidelberg[m]> yup
<bentiss> OK, next question, why do I have requests for pipeline 732340 when this was for https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/19305 and is supposed to be merged on main
<daniels> bentiss: 22.3 and amber are in flight
<bentiss> It does reply 404, so I guess it's not the upload part but the download part [09/Nov/2022:14:59:24 +0000] "HEAD /artifacts/mesa/mesa/732340/mesa-amd64.tar.gz HTTP/1.1" 404 0
<bentiss> daniels, DavidHeidelberg[m] it would be nice if we could have the CI changes backported there as well
<daniels> bentiss: right that's what I mean, they are getting backported there
<bentiss> daniels: oh, OK, then great
<bentiss> FWIW, we definitely are missing one job that is still attempting to fetch mesa-amd64.tar.gz on the old server: [09/Nov/2022:09:50:20 +0000] "HEAD /artifacts/mesa/mesa/722243/mesa-amd64.tar.gz HTTP/1.1" 404 0
<daniels> hmm, 722243 is 2 weeks old?
<daniels> oh, I think I might know what that is
<daniels> ffs yeah ok
<daniels> DavidHeidelberg[m], gallo[m]: could either of you please fix virglrenderer so it also uses the new host? :)
<bentiss> daniels: which job is actually not using the new host? all of them are green on the pipeline page
<daniels> bentiss: virglrenderer uses artifacts from Mesa ...
<bentiss> oh, so different pipeline
<bentiss> k, makes senes
<bentiss> sense
<bentiss> daniels, DavidHeidelberg[m], gallo[m]: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gfx-ci/tracie/traces-db/-/blob/master/.gitlab-ci/upload-to-minio.sh also needs an update
<DavidHeidelberg[m]> bentiss: I know
<bentiss> \o/
<bentiss> robclark: FWIW, drm/msm is using https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/robclark/drm-ci/-/raw/ci-in-tree-results/.gitlab-ci.yml which needs to use the new server too
nik has quit []
<bentiss> one thing I forgot to mention is that I have checked all the currently uploaded artifacts, and besides those few projects, we don't have any other users (I consider that all the mesa forks ones are going to be updated at one point)

<robclark> bentiss: ok, I should probably try and move to tomeu's latest drm/ci patch and back to upstream gfx-ci/drm-ci (which presumably already points to the right server?)..
<bentiss> gfx-ci/drm-ci has seen its last update 5 months ago, so I doubt it is up to date :(
<bentiss> and so that's one more project to update :(
<tomeu> yep, I need to make the move
ybogdano has quit [Quit: The Lounge - https://thelounge.chat]
<bentiss> it would be nice if we could have the upstream kernel point directly at the new server... :)
agd5f_ has quit []

<robclark> it's probably best to have a level of indirection between upstream kernel and server infra details ;-)
Leopold has quit []
<daniels> robclark: yeah the problem was that MinIO decided to burn the way we did auth
<daniels> so it's not just changing a hostname - which we could do transparently - but the client needs to change as well
<daniels> it would've been possible to do it more transparently if it was more entrenched, but it was easy enough to just get others to move given that the kernel stuff wasn't merged etc
<daniels> and Mesa just got MRd back into stable etc
<robclark> needing upstream kernel patch to land when that sorta thing happens would be suboptimal
MrCooper has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
MrCooper has joined #freedesktop
<daniels> right, so if it was that entrenched, then we could probably look at sticking in some kind of proxy which completely rewrote auth
<daniels> but given the balance of it not being in any kernel trees + admin just being bentiss who already has a million things to do ...
<robclark> yeah, fair.. I was more just wondering if that changes the balance of how much we want to have in kernel tree vs drm-ci
<robclark> ie. would that have helped us this time?
<daniels> i think it would've yeah
<robclark> I guess the one sticking point is whether we were referring to gfx-ci via a commit sha or tag vs just HEAD
<robclark> maybe we should separate things like which igt version to use from more infra-ish things.. but idk, not much of an expert in infra-y things
<daniels> well, it's the same as anything - where do you want to draw the line
<daniels> do you want to make your YAML a stable API, or do you want to make your HTTP paths+auth+etc a stable API
<robclark> whatever avoids grumpy maintainers?
<robclark> but fair
<danvet> my take is that aside from the initial pull that will get some linus scrutiny, we should do what makes sense between infra and code stuff
<danvet> and I'm also totally expecting this to take some time to shake out
<danvet> time = probably more years than months since atm very few drivers still
