<gallo[m]> Does anyone know who the Mesa Amber branch's maintainer/creator/mentor is so I can remove CI test jobs?

<daniels> gallo[m]: it looks from commits like it’s ajax - but indeed the plan of killing the test jobs does seem like a good one tbh

<eric_engestrom> I have received gitlab notification very much out of order and with up to 4h delay
<eric_engestrom> if this isn't already a known issue, perhaps someone should take a look at the email part of gitlab?
<daniels> eric_engestrom: I've been getting them instantaneously all morning
<daniels> earlier this morning some delivery was delayed because engestrom.ch was returning host not found for MX, and then it was delayed later on because connecting to messagingengine.com timed out
<eric_engestrom> ah right, I saw that fastmail was experiencing a DDoS
<eric_engestrom> I didn't connect the dots
<eric_engestrom> thanks :)
<daniels> eric_engestrom: also looking at the amber branch, it looks like you merged some commits to fix CI into there without review - is that usual practice for stable? if so, given that no-one really knows who maintains the branch, it seems like the best thing would be to just do the same here (disable all the testing jobs since none of them are relevant for amber drivers) and move on with our lives
<eric_engestrom> wrt "usual practice" not really no, but if you mean a4f68e1d4223521fdc04 that came out of a discussion with someone but I don't remember who (and obviously I forgot to write it down in the commit), and 55540962be4ac4d7f72d was after a discussion on irc and our internal matrix where we all agreed that reporting flakes for ancient stuff is basically spam but again I didn't record that
<eric_engestrom> wrt disabling more/all tests on amber I don't have a stake in this, I guess it's kinda bad because it will be even less user-tested than main so if things break it will take forever to be noticed & reported, but also I don't know if we care? I don't
<eric_engestrom> I think build-testing should stay though, to be clear (I know you weren't suggesting removing that but I wanted to be clear :)
<daniels> oh yeah, of course build testing should stay, but we either need to wholesale lift 18 months of CI reworks and changes back into amber, or just switch off the hardware testing
<daniels> unless we want amber to continue to be tested and run well on Panfrost and v3d and fdno and whatever, but I very much thought that was an anti-goal
<kusma> Speaking of Panfrost and v3d etc... Should we maybe delete things that are in main from the amber-branch now that it's not just a previous stable-branch that's being maintained longer? Or is that going to be a nightmare in terms of maintenance work?
<kusma> (I mean nightmare in terms of backporting, really)

<DragoonAethis> daniels: Hey, I need to create a system account for Intel kernel CI stuffs. Could you approve registration for "intel-lgci-autobot" on GitLab?

<bentiss> DragoonAethis: approved, would you mind double checking the email so it won't get pruned next time the bot swipes the spam accounts
<bentiss> DragoonAethis: also make sure your bot has activity (at least one repo would ensure that) so it is not considered as spam
<DragoonAethis> bentiss: Thanks, I'll create a readme repo in a bit
<bentiss> DragoonAethis:thanks :)

<DragoonAethis> bentiss: Umm, I might have one more request - turns out that email address does not accept mail from outside of the corporate domain
<DragoonAethis> Because "security" I guess
<bentiss> DragoonAethis: k, what do you need then?
<DragoonAethis> I'll PM you the address
<bentiss> k
<DragoonAethis> bentiss got it done, thanks :)
<bentiss> no worries
<DragoonAethis> bentiss: Added the account to 3 pre-existing repos, that should be enough to dodge the spam sweep? (It can't create personal repos etc yet)
<bentiss> DragoonAethis: not sure if that count as activity
<DragoonAethis> Okay, I'll push something from it, just in case
<bentiss> DragoonAethis: I just made it not "external" so you can create the README repo :)
<DragoonAethis> bentiss: All set, thanks :)
<bentiss> cool :)
