<steev>
bamse: it's still kinda iffy sometimes. the i2c bits just won't reset or something
<bamse>
steev: on my "bad" c630 i sometimes can't press alt+<number>...
<bamse>
steev: thinking about it, i often can't log in during the first 10-15 seconds...which i guess means that we have some lingering things happening in the kernel that just gets things setup properly...perhaps some pinctrl magic
<steev>
the touchpad still randomly goes away when coming out of suspend, but not a big issue for me as i spend most of my time in the terminal anyway
<bamse>
hmm, thought we fixed that...because i haven't had that problem in a while
<bamse>
perhaps i haven't been testing properly
<bamse>
the strange thing about that issue is that i ran the test app for inputs, and it registers the touchpad...it's just that sway doesn't see it
<bamse>
but i don't remember which test app that is :/
<bamse>
ahh, i just ran "libinput debug-gui"
<bamse>
steev: try that the next time you're in that situation and see if you have the same, that it receives the touchpad input...but it's then lost on its way to wayland
<steev>
oh, i'm pretty sure that's it - the kernel still does but X doesn't (i'm pretty sure i'm not using wayland since i'm using budgie)
<steev>
i do recall seeing it come back in the dmesg output, but i'll give that a shot as well

steev: well, it's not only the kernel...if libinput receives the events then we're triggering some sort of userspace bug/feature
<bamse>
my problem is that as libinput seems happy about what the kernel tells it, i don't know how to debug it
<steev>
that's fair
<steev>
related-ish, i'm still doing the bisects, but it's gonna be slow going for the next few weeks

Hello
<sus>
I need help with mainlining a sdm636 device
<sus>
With what defconfig I should start?
<sus>
And what do I need to port dtb from device with same soc (there is working dts at https://github.com/konradybcio/linux , named sdm636-sony-xperia-ganges-mermaid.dts)?
<sus>
There is working dts but for other device *
<sus>
note: xperia 10 plus has ufs, and my asus zenfone max pro m1 has emmc

bamse: That already sounds better than my experience on a ThreadRipper, it's rare to have it come out of suspend at all 😁. Mainline is becoming such a nice place for these SoCs nowadays
<Marijn[m]>
bamse: On that regard, did you resend the LPG patches? I vaguely recall seeing new ones in my inbox during holiday 1.5mo back, and mentions about more fixes in this channel that still have to be sent. What's the latest version, and is there anything I can give a final test + r-b on?
<konradybcio>
sus: xperia 10+ has eMMC too, and yeah, please look at the link Marjin has provided
<Marijn[m]>
sus: In fact you might want to look at a recent Linux release instead, as those DTs have been merged for quite some time (and I don't remember if we already landed any more features and cleanups on top, but that's quite likely)
