<strongtz[m]> I finally got wifi, mdss and GPU working on my sm8550 device lol
<strongtz[m]> tested the gpu with vkpeak, got fp32-scalar = 1778.92 GFLOPS
<strongtz[m]> if i understand correctly, current a7xx support in mesa doens't support ogl right? so I won't be getting accelerated desktop
<strongtz[m]> I also tried zink + plasma-wayland, which doesn't seem to work

<danylo> strongtz Right, Freedreno (gl driver) doesn't support a7xx at the moment, while Turnip does. So the only way to get accelerated desktop is through Zink. Though I'm not sure how well upstream Zink + Turnip run plasma, there are likely some MRs in flight to make them work.

<strongtz[m]> danylo: Oh thanks. I'll try some other wayland compositors for now maybe.

<strongtz[m]> GNOME desktop does work with zink+turnip
<strongtz[m]> many applications are crashing though
<strongtz[m]> like GNOME Settings
<strongtz[m]> also the UI stuck from time to time
<strongtz[m]> but if I put some load on the GPU (eg. vkcube), then it becomes quite smooth
<flamingradian[m]> maybe wrong opp?

<HappY[m]> Anyway for Charger without pmic-glink? :/
<HappY[m]> * Anyway for sm8350 Charger without
<strongtz[m]> HappY: pmic-glink works mostly fine for me on sm8350 and sm8550
<strongtz[m]> but if I plug in a charging cable and plug it out, usb host mode no longer works
<HappY[m]> strongtz: pmic battery manager reporting always wrong information.. always reporting 100% and always failed to connect with usb device.. and it happens with oplus 9/9pro & realme GT 2
<strongtz[m]> I guess the vendor messed up with the firmware then
<strongtz[m]> It works on my Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra (sm8350) and AYN Odin 2 (sm8550)
<strongtz[m]> Odin 2 is basically a retail HDK though lol
<strongtz[m]> with unfused SoC
<HappY[m]> HappY[m]: Same charger used for oplus 9 & 9 pro they also have same issues
<HappY[m]> strongtz: this is our charger collected from fdt. https://pastebin.com/kTAdNrHQ
<HappY[m]> We have battery manager firmware json file in stock.. like this..
<HappY[m]> Wireless charging not supported so no more firmware available.. even i am seriously unable understand how can solve this issue..

<HappY[m]> So for that case without pmic-glink charging possible?
<flto> strongtz[m]: how did you see that it is unfused (odin 2)? if that's the case then I would buy one
<konradybcio> flto devices that come from funny vendors are often like that
<konradybcio> you can tell by "secure boot: off" in bootloader menu / logs
<flto> konradybcio: is there any retail phone with better than sdm845 that has secure boot off? (since you say "often" it sounds like you know a few?)
<HappY[m]> Konrady bcio can you have any suggestions for me about charging .. ?
<konradybcio> from "legal" devices (e.g. not stolen from factories), there's definitely 845 and 6115 (worse than 845)
<HappY[m]> s/can/do/
<strongtz[m]> flto: it's "secure boot: off" in fastboot
<strongtz[m]> they also use unmodified ABL code, which disables all functions like 'flash', 'boot', 'erase', etc.
<strongtz[m]> I flashed the ABL from Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro (also 8550), and it works lol
<strongtz[m]> btw odin 1 (sdm845) is also unfused
<flto> does it have an easy way to get into 9008 mode? (in case you flash a bad ABL,etc.)
<strongtz[m]> flto: hmm probably no currently. I haven't managed to brick it lol
<strongtz[m]> I guess you'll have to take it apart to reach the dload pin
<strongtz[m]> It can directly reboot to EDL mode in fastboot though
<strongtz[m]> and any firehose will work (I used one from Xiaomi)
<strongtz[m]> warranty certified by Nubia lol
<Leandro[m]1> <strongtz[m]> "btw odin 1 (sdm845) is also..." <- Today i learned

<Adrian[m]1> <konradybcio> "from "legal" devices (e.g. not..." <- And SM8150 in Nubia Mini 5G
<konradybcio> well nubia mini was also sort of a grey/black market device
<Adrian[m]1> I don't know much about the details, but apparently 3 Lineage devs have one so I assumed it was more than a black market device. IIRC it never really launched though?
<aka_[m]> <konradybcio> "well nubia mini was also sort of..." <- oh noobia
