<travmurav[m]>
there was /some/ BSD with some basic support for select WoA laptops iirc but I think they relied on qcom's acpi there

How does the SPMI bus work on modern Qualcomm platforms? I'm trying to get edk2 working on SM8650 (I know, slight offtopic) so that I can use SimpleFB in mainline, but for whatever reason I get a Synchronous External Abort when the SPMI driver tries to access address 0xC774008, which seems to be where the SPMI is located
<ungeskriptet>
Is this address maybe only accessible from a certain exception level?
<travmurav[m]>
I believe you don't touch spmi but instead talk to rpm(?) to do actual spmi transfers on your behalf
<konradybcio>
no, you talk to spmi
<konradybcio>
though certain spmi regions may be secure or otherwise owned by someyhing else than the ap
<travmurav[m]>
hm maybe I'm confusing it with something then, just that I remember on old things there is a dedicated arbiter block one talks to instead of the actual spmi
<ungeskriptet>
I think that 0xC774008 is the wrong address. If I understand the driver correctly, it wants to get the SPMI status from that address

narmstrong: Would it be possible for you to tell me if you have the same address on your SM8650 board?
