<strongtz[m]> ungeskriptet: but it works on my sm8550 device. You just need to have `/reserved-memory/splash_region` in device tree, and maybe disable dispcc
<ungeskriptet> strongtz[m]: Without the simple-framebuffer node?
<strongtz[m]> uh wdym, aren't you trying to use simplefb?
<ungeskriptet> I am using it. You said I just need to disable dispcc and reserved memory
<strongtz[m]> Having /reserved-memory/splash_region make abl not disable display hardware
<ungeskriptet> Oh
<ungeskriptet> Does it have to be named exactly that?
<strongtz[m]> yes exactly
<ungeskriptet> No way, imma try this
<ungeskriptet> strongtz[m]: it works! \(^_^)/

<ungeskriptet> I wish I know this sooner lol

<Adrian[m]1> ohhhh fancy, iirc it was similar on sm8450 but the region was called cont_slash_region. Adding it didn't fix fb though, it only made the bootloader enable the mdss clocks

<z3ntu> Anybody aware of a way to get b4 send to use special git diff options like -B (--break-rewrites)? I looked for a way to either (temporarily) make -B a default option for git diff or to tell b4 to use custom options but I haven't found either

<lumag> z3ntu, would git config diff.renames = false help?
<lumag> z3ntu, btw, any chance you can take a look at switching ptn36502 to use aux bridge?
<z3ntu> lumag: At least "git -c diff.renames=false show $commit" doesn't have the same effect as -B. But I've also asked this now on the b4 mailing list, and hacked up b4 in the meantime to be able to send my series https://lore.kernel.org/tools/12393372.O9o76ZdvQC@g550jk/T/#u
<z3ntu> lumag: I didn't take a look yet, from what I remember seeing on the other driver it should be fairly trivial, right?
<lumag> z3ntu, yep. Just take care about the possible probe defers, see Johan's fixes.
<z3ntu> Are they merged anywhere yet, so I can base my branch on that?
<lumag> z3ntu, phy-next IIRC :D

<adomerle> Marijn: sorry to bother you, is there any news about dual dsc? have you checked Jessica's suggested changes? I hope you're okay, cuz you haven't responded for a month.

<Marijn[m]> No, I had to step away from this for a while
<Marijn[m]> I haven't seen any reply from Jessica, might have missed it. Can you link it? Was it on the bugtracker, mailing lists, or here in irc?
<aka_[m]> Do ayone know how to make kernel use in-tree dtc?
<aka_[m]> it picks host one
<aka_[m]> * host one for me and i have to deal with errors on legacy kernel

<z3ntu> aka_: Set PATH to point there? Or cp that binary into /usr/bin/ or wherever the host dtc exists?
