yes, windows == android except uefi boot services arent closed, acpi tables are provided and the DPP partition holding device specific data exists
<aka_[m]>
So what's drawback of not closed uefi services?
<aka_[m]>
I'm too uninformed to understand how these even work?
<aka_[m]>
Not like it's running in secure world or something
<konradybcio>
the drawback is.. you can interact with.. uefi.. services

does anyone know if the /lib/firmware/qcom/sc7180-trogdor/modem-nolte/{mba.mbn,qdsp6sw.mbn} are ever going to land in the linux-firmware repo?
<javierm>
abhinav__: ^
<konradybcio>
I guess dianders might know ^
<abhinav__>
javierm yeah, either dianders and lumag might know this one better
<dianders>
javierm: we had many fights with Qualcomm about this. I would love it if we had permission to put it in the linux-firmware repo, but after (IIRC) several years of fighting I gave up.
<dianders>
javierm: It's possible that you could appeal to bamse to see if he has any channels to make it allowed. From Google's point of view we would love it.
<konradybcio>
dianders some birds on the street chirp that you should try to talk to your contacts again
<konradybcio>
and cc bamse while at it
<javierm>
abhinav__, dianders, konradybcio: thanks for the info folks
