<TJ[m]1> Anyone can confirm the wsa881x are working fine in mainline? I Have sm8250 module with wcd938x + wsa881x, the wcd938x are working fine but wsa881x produce low audio even I set the volume to the max.
<z3ntu> Maybe unrelated but with i2s amplifier on sm6350/sm7225 (same generation as sm8250) I also have very low volume
<TJ[m]1> The setup of module are same like sm8250-mtp, the different only the wsa881x use channel 1 & 2 (sdw10217201000), while the sm8250-mtp use channel 3 & 4 (sdw10217211000)
<TJ[m]1> <z3ntu> "Maybe unrelated but with i2s..." <- It use same sound machine driver?

<z3ntu> Pretty sure I was using sm8250 machine driver, but honestly with qdsp6 stuff the machine drivers don't really differ by much, so I don't think my problem is inside the machine driver at least

<chalkin[m]> <TJ[m]1> "Anyone can confirm the wsa881x..." <- I have the same problem. My device is Lenovo TB-Q706F, SM8250 platform, codecs cs35l45. The volume of pipewire is very small, only the right channel. I use pulseaudio instead of pipewire, and the volume is normal.
<TJ[m]1> <chalkin[m]> "I have the same problem. My..." <- Ok, will check about this. Currently I use Linaro Debian rootfs release, IIRC it use pipewire.

<aklimov> ping aka_[m]: do you have a repo with your changes that enable rx-macro, wcd, etc? And I guess you have working HPHL/HPHR playback? It will be interesting to see mixers settings to make it work.
<aklimov> aka_[m]: with certain mixers/switches settings or when chaning their values I can hear pop/click sound from the speaker as well
<aka_[m]> <aklimov> "aka_: with certain mixers/..." <- for me it was more like crack, when i didn't wire EAR into AW87359 it was also poping when switching to it.
<aka_[m]> For codec parts i do have mostly same stuff like you, after i was most done with it found Konrad's branch and aligned with his
<aka_[m]> will try to clean repos a bit
<steev> TJ[m]1: the only device i have with wsa881x does *not* play audio, but it's a soundwire issue not wsa

<aka_[m]> aklimov: no changes to defaults for speaker on ucm front, just used sc8280xp card
<aklimov> aka_[m]: so with these settings the headphone playback works, right? Do you have DT/kernel changes to compare with changes that I have?
<aklimov> aka_[m]: i also have that clk already disabled messages from wcd all the time
<aklimov> on qrb4210 rb2 board there is only one mono speaker output from wsa881x connected to wcd9370 aux (well, and HDMI audio) and no ear and no headphones output as far as I know

<aka_[m]> aklimov: this would be closest
<aka_[m]> tho don't look at TX/VA patch as its probably all wrong and unrelated to RX alone
<aka_[m]> on VA/TX macro there is quirk on setting MBHC channels
<aka_[m]> just VA but they do it from TX
<aka_[m]> i guess 6115 is bolero 2_1
<aka_[m]> version 5 by dt
