<karlp> nice reflection :)

<gamiee> karlp: lol didn't noticed the reflection
<apritzel> to be fair with camera and LCD it should actually be more an "A" part ;-)
<apritzel> but it's probably the same die as the H616 - which has those peripherals, but doesn't connect them to pins

<hlauer> regarding the driver strenght setting of A20 gpio: Is maxI 20mA or 40mA/GPIO? Also is there a limit how many GPIO/Port can drive at max strenght?
<apritzel> hlauer: we map 10, 20, 30, 40 to the levels 0, 1, 2, 3, respectively, but AFAICS the manuals do not mention this explicitly
<apritzel> hlauer: re: max drive: can't you just measure it?
<apritzel> hlauer: also, did you you find out if level 1 means the current gets actively limited to 20mA?

<hlauer> apritzel: thx, just found that levels in the fex part of the wiki too. Sorry, hardly noticed the old fex stuff so far.
<hlauer> apritzel: Is it save to draw 40mA permanently from a level 3 GPIO Pin?
<karlp> hrm, drive strength for gpios normally just means how sharp the edges will be, the amount of power you can draw is normally pretty fixed....
<karlp> AW might be special, but, I'd be surprised.
<hlauer> A20 v1.5 Datasheet page 13ff: Buffer Strength (mA): 20. So indeed 40mV sounds somehow unresonable. Is it save to draw 20mA permanentely then?
<karlp> from a single pin? I wouldn't want tobe building a design on it... I don't know what AW specs on it, but even MCUs will often cap out at about 20 absolute max per pin.
<karlp> and thats _absolute_ max, not "safe permanent"
<karlp> a fet costs cents, what are you really trying to do here?
JohnDoe_71Rus has quit []
<karlp> maybe they do mean 20mA permanent, could be handy, but I still wouldn't want to jsut read that "buffer strength" column and yolo it.
<karlp> I'm _not_ an allwinner expert here though, someone may have better data or more concrete numbers for these parts, I'm just speaking generally for a SoC

<hlauer> thx for the input. I'm not to familiar with SoC datasheets, so will wait if an AW expert speaks up here...
<apritzel> hlauer: the A20 datasheet (not manual) speaks of "20 mA buffer strength" for all GPIOs
<apritzel> hlauer: regarding the effect of the level setting: can't you just measure it? connect 100 Ohms to VCC, toggle the pin briefly, while measuring the voltage over the resistor
<apritzel> repeat for different level settings
