smaeul: I have seen plenty of machine generated C code, so it being assembly doesn't really matter

<libv>
jernej: price is one thing
<libv>
and of course, value for money of the likes of fosdem, or froscon or whichever free conference is infinite
<libv>
but the one time i decided to do linuxcon/elce (combined) it just felt totally elitist, and meant to the boost the egos of some speakers, and capture the cash of the corporate doofusses to help fill the linux foundation coffers
<libv>
so when paulk approached me about a doing a more kernel/uboot oriented devroom, i jumped at the idea
<libv>
(at fosdem)
<libv>
and we only got a few talks about kernel code, mostly from people who were outsiders to the kernel crowd
<libv>
the best result is that we got the coreboot people engaged, who then went off to get their own bootloader devroom in 2020 (i organized a coreboot devroom in 2010 btw)
<libv>
it's hard for me to put to words, but linuxcon felt wrong.

libv: LinuxCon is a different beast, but definitely ELCE (for embedded stuff), *Recipes and Plumbers are very good conferences, the latter two with a wider (beyond embedded) audience
<apritzel>
and while many talks are good, the hallway track is probably more important, or in general to meet people
<jernej>
apritzel: will you be there?

ELCE, I mean

ello. anyone here running openwrt on one of their sunxi devices? I'm adding a new device (pinecube) to it, and as part of that I'm bumping the u-boot version and I don't wanna inadvertantly brick people. https://openwrt.org/docs/techref/targets/sunxi << or if you don't run it but are willing to test :)
