<KREYREN_oftc> Btw. did you know that KiCAD can do raytracing? :D https://i.imgur.com/Uc55Uvg.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/5M0ffKp.jpeg Look at dam gold reflections! :D
<KREYREN_oftc> > <Jookia> thanks :D < Thanks for your contribution, but unfortunately i must refund your thanks, i only accept virtual headpats.. i need to stockpile those now bcs FreeBSD banned them and they are critical for my development

<jernej> apritzel: acmeplus: tokyovigilante: I found bug for LPDDR4 init. It should be 4 or BIT(2) here: https://elixir.bootlin.com/u-boot/v2024.01/source/arch/arm/mach-sunxi/dram_sun50i_h616.c#L1240
<jernej> furthermore, it's questionable if this is really necessary. It also depends on TPR13 value besides type
<tokyovigilante> thanks jernej, will add that in tomorrow and see if it makes a difference. Got HDMI output working (just framebuffer, no GPU) and booted up a Sway desktop using llvmpipe in only 220mb of RAM, so was pretty pleased.
<jernej> good to hear
<tokyovigilante> The GPU itself is still crashing so have disabled it for now, I assume there are more power fixes required
<jernej> I'm a bit suspicious why I got more reports of LPDDR4 having issue with size detection, so I'm looking into code
<jernej> I think I found another difference
<jernej> so I guess it's best if I just make a patch and then link it here
<tokyovigilante> Cool, thanks. Its an absolute patchwork of hacks currently, but HDMI working well at least, and gives an easier path to working on the internal display. We will start working on upstreaming some of the DT stuff at least when it's looking a bit more stable
<jernej> sounds good
<tokyovigilante> ok, boots fine with that change, have added TPR13 for CONFIG_DRAM_SUN50I_H616_TPR13=0x2000c60
<tokyovigilante> as from vendor BSP
<jernej> since that config is neither in Kconfig nor in code, it won't help
<tokyovigilante> heh ok

<apritzel> jernej: cool, many thanks for digging into this! every bit is welcome ;-)
<apritzel> tokyovigilante: I think for display/HDMI/LCD we need more power rails enabled
<jernej> now that I looked into LPDDR4 more closesly, missed cases are popping up :)

<w16fixme> Hi, has anyone had any experience with identifying the tablet board (or can give me some hints)? I don't know anything other than the "S101_MB V2.3" with A13, 512mb RAM and probably 8gb ROM, also there is date on mb "2012.05.08". I googled that and got only "tablet Pioneer Android Spreadwin Puppies". Thanks!

<libv> w16fixme: check the wiki
<libv> the main page has a section "Allwinner based devices"
<libv> and it's the first link in the big table
<libv> w16fixme: /topic would have told you this when you entered
<w16fixme> that may be my skill issue but i need to know what defconfig should use for u-boot/kernel (the generic sun5i don't produce spl)
<libv> ...
<w16fixme> what? sorry me noob here
<libv> if you cannot identify a board, then what board config or what board specific dts do you plan to use?
<libv> and if someone points out that you missed the obvious bits on the topic specific wiki, you do not reply with "that might be my skill issue, but please stuff the fish directly in my mouth"
<w16fixme> LOL that's why i'm asking here, maybe anyone have had that board
<libv> you are not helping your case here.
<w16fixme> i see, anyways thanks
<libv> w16fixme: try following the wiki
<libv> it's definitely less outdated than your tablet, so the information on device identification, failing that device page creation and information gathering, should be very relevant
<libv> and no, this is not a quick sunday afternoon project.
