03:08 <russell--> i just was looking at a 2017 openwrt image on soekris net4826 (recovered from the field recently), and with a 4.9.20 LEDE kernel (SNAPSHOT, r4050-c45ef702ff), /proc/meminfo says MemTotal: 56076 kB, while modern OpenWrt on the same hardware i'm seeing MemTotal: 48864 kB. new kernel = 16672k; old kernel 9460k. Almost double.

17:46 <russell--> KanjiMonster: i went looking at the board last night to see what chips are present, expecting to see an external support chip that might be involved and didn't see anything that looked significant other than ram and flash and a pci support chip, other blocks are apparently internal to the SC1100.
