<kaazoo> Hi, thanks for adding the packages for testing the speaker support tobhe!
<kaazoo> Unfortunately, I get this error during startup of speakersafetyd:
<kaazoo> speakersafetyd[4286]: thread 'main' panicked at 'Could not lock elem Left Woofer 1 VSENSE Switch. alsa-lib error: Error("snd_ctl_elem_lock", ENOENT)', src/helpers.rs:172:13
<kaazoo> on j414
<kaazoo> Are there any additional manual actions required? Perhaps enabling "please_blow_up_my_speakers" option in snd-soc-macaudio kernel module?
<kaazoo> Or is speaker support just not enabled for j414 in 6.6.0-1003-apple-arm ?
<tobhe[m]> haven't seen that before
<tobhe[m]> did you reboot for the new kernel?
<tobhe[m]> i think it should be
<kaazoo> Yes, I'm running that kernel already.

<kaazoo> tobhe: Did you set "please_blow_up_my_speakers" in your system?
<tobhe[m]> i didn't
<tobhe[m]> what's your alsa-ucm-conf-asahi version?
<tobhe[m]> and pipewire + wireplumber + asahi-audio
<kaazoo> alsa-ucm-conf-asahi is 5-1~ubuntu0
<kaazoo> pipewire is 1.0.0-1+ubuntuasahi1~ubuntu23.10.1
<kaazoo> wireplumber is 0.4.17-1-ubuntuasahi~ubuntu23.10.1
<kaazoo> asahi-audio is 1.6-1~ubuntuasahi23.10.2
<tobhe[m]> sounds all ok

<kaazoo> So as long as that commit is included in 6.6.0-1003-apple-arm, macaudio should enable speakers
<kaazoo> According to https://launchpadlibrarian.net/705873582/linux-apple-arm_6.6.0-1003.3_source.changes the 2 commits to enable speaker support are included.
