<popey> Good morning! I tried building telegram (to get around the kernel page size) and published telegram-asahi in the snap store a while back. It works fine. However the latest release fails on my ubuntu asahi now... https://paste.debian.net/1302893/
<popey> anyone seen that error? The version in candidate fails but the one in stable channel is fine
<popey> Wondered if this was a byproduct of the newer mesa?
<tobhe[m]> it looks like it might be
<tobhe[m]> not sure why tough
<tobhe[m]> does /snap/telegram-asahi/2/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/dri/asahi_dri.so exist?
<popey> no
<popey> i think i may need to enable your ppa in the snap build
<popey> given libgl1-mesa-dri is likely always newer in your ppa
<tobhe[m]> or use the gnome extension
<popey> i'm trying to deviate as little as possible in the snap from the upstream telegram-desktop snap
<popey> I'm cloning their repo, renaming from telegram-desktop to telegram-asahi, and basically that's it, currently
<popey> they build the whole world (of qt) in their snap, so adding the gnome extension seems a bit perverse :D
<tobhe[m]> makes sense
<popey> oh, their snap uses the kisak-mesa repo
<tobhe[m]> yeah, we should have a graphics extension but gnome is the next best thing there was to bundle mesa
<tobhe[m]> this is probably some kind of ABI failure between mesa driver and base library. I guess they aren't meant to be combined across major versions like that...

<lucyllewy> tobhe[m]: I think it might have been an outdated m1n1 issue. I reinstalled (because I wanted to test both 22.04 and 23.10 in parallel so deleted the install to then reinstall both alongside eachother) and the new install seems to sound more correct
<tobhe[m]> aha, so maybe the same bug kaazoo was seeing
<tobhe[m]> I'm not sure how we could catch those better

<popey> Woohoo! Adding the tobhe ppa to the build has fixed it. If someone wants to confirm this (candidate channel) I'd appreciate it
