<eslerm[m]> I measured my battery discharge with a fresh install during 1 hour of sleep
<eslerm[m]> I was going to take a few repeated measurements, but this is so small I don't think I've reproduced the battery issue popey mentioned

<tobhe[m]> hm does it wake up maybe?
<eslerm[m]> possibly, I don't know much about sleep mode or if any logging goes on
<tobhe[m]> i guess you'd see logging if it wakes up
<tobhe[m]> maybe we can add kernel prints to figure out what's going on
<tobhe[m]> 23.5% sounds like a lot though
<tobhe[m]> I remember when there wasn't any suspend i'd just close the lid and let the laptop idle in my bagpack over night and it didn't lose more than that
<eslerm[m]> there are no logs during sleep, but kernel has a few logs that appear to be for going into suspend afterwards
<eslerm[m]> testing Fedora Asahi Remix and Sway might point to this being a gnome issue 🤷
<tobhe[m]> could be
<tobhe[m]> but we really don't have any clue pointing that way other than us all using gnome
<tobhe[m]> would be interesting to compare the logs but nothing suspicious in this one as far as i can see
<eslerm[m]> just bias :)
<eslerm[m]> I haven't noticed power loss using sway, setting up a test
<tobhe[m]> ah btw, you said it is a fresh install but did you also upgrade before testing?
<eslerm[m]> I wonder why localhost.localdomain kernel: Freezing user space processes was reported after waking
<tobhe[m]> might have been stuck in some queue
<eslerm[m]> I am not using testing
<eslerm[m]> I meant to use the lastest stable releases all OS'
<eslerm[m]> * stable releases for all OS'
<tobhe[m]> i mean did you upgrade packages after the fresh ubuntu install? because i think the installer image doesn't ship the newest kernel yet
<eslerm[m]> this was the plan ^
<eslerm[m]> but, 1 hour results are wildly different than longer durations (well, with a sample size of one)
<tobhe[m]> > packages upgraded,
<tobhe[m]> that was my question 🙂
<tobhe[m]> ok, sounds like a good plan
