If I have multiple mice on the same seat, I should only see one cursor for them all, right? But what if I also have touch or tablet on that same seat? Should they get their own cursors?

Touch does not have a cursor, but might move the cursor through pointer simulation
<kennylevinsen>
Same with tablet iirc
<kennylevinsen>
(move the cursor associated with the normal mice that is)
<any1>
Well, I guess that makes sense for touch, but cursors are useful for tablets
<any1>
I.e. when you have a tool in proximity on a drawing tablet, you might want to see its location on screen

Hmm don't quite remember if tablet controls the pointer... It's been a while since I tried

any1: in gnome we hide the tablet cursor when mouse moves, and vice versa, as not doing so deemed confusing
<jadahl>
but they are technically different in mutters implementation, with their own position etc (iirc)
