Sorry guys, wasn't using a verified nick a minute ago so not sure if my message sent... Apologies if this is a repost
<ScotishTapWater>
Hey guys so I'm having a weird issue... Basically, I've got an external monitor and I can run it just fine at 2560x1440@144Hz but when I try and run it at 3840x2160@60Hz (more pixels/s) or higher, I get a corrupt screen that ocassionally drops to black whenever anything changes on the display. I'm running 5.18.6-arch-1 with sway 1.7 and Wayland 1.20.0-2 on an i7-1165G7 with TigerLake-L0 GT2 Iris Xe graphics. I'm new to Wayland, and I've never tou

with Xe graphics until today so not sure where to go with debugging this for you... Any ideas? Oh, I'm connected over DP/USB-C and it works fine at full res @144Hz with the same cable in the same port on Windows (haven't tried X11)

ScotishTapWater: hi! can you ask in #sway on libera.chat?
<ScotishTapWater>
Ahh, do you reckon this is a Sway issue rather than a Wayland one?
<ScotishTapWater>
but sure I can
<emersion>
wayland is just a protocol
<ScotishTapWater>
Ahh... I was thinking it was a display server still
<emersion>
it doesn't program your outputs, the code doing that is in sway
<emersion>
so this is either a sway, wlroots, or driver bug
<ScotishTapWater>
Alright, just trying to work out how to get on to libera, it's saying I need to be authenticated with a nickserv but it won't let me get into the webchat to even register with a nickserv

any error message?
<ScotishTapWater>
Aye, SASL authentication to a NickServ account with a verified email address is required to connect from your current network
<qyliss>
are you using tor?
<ScotishTapWater>
nope, just some shitty mobile network that piggybacks on Vodafone's infrastructure

their official solution seems to be "go use some public wifi" which is a great help when the nearest town is about 100 miles away... Guess I'll just ask on their Github instead
