<nebadon> zmike I figured out what my problem was
<nebadon> its gamemoderun
<nebadon> here it is with gamemoderun > https://imgur.com/a/B5WivRw
<nebadon> and here it is without > https://imgur.com/a/cffCikV
<nebadon> it did work with it previously
<nebadon> the latest git mesa though is no longer crashing KDE with gamemoderun, it just renders like you see, and I can alt-f4 out
<nebadon> hmm odd, now that I ran it once without gamemoderun it works when I put it back
<nebadon> shader cache? I did erase the steam shader cache and that did not help.. I don't know only thing I did to make it work though was remove that gamemoderun, but now its working with it.. so odd
<nebadon> its working very well too! > https://imgur.com/a/mndfIIE

<kusma> zmike: GOT IT! My dumbness lead me astray, the answer was right next to the first issue I found (and I also re-did that mistake in my attempt to fix it)!
<kusma> zmike: Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction :)

<zmike> kusma: doh, nice work finding that
<zmike> thanks for sticking with it
<kusma> NP :)
<zmike> nebadon: great!
<zmike> kusma: I'm really surprised that it never blew up on me though
<zmike> it even passed ci
<zmike> AND it ran the tomb raider benchmark for over an hour
<kusma> 🤷
<zmike> yep
<nebadon> zmike are you also running it with gamemode?
<zmike> I am not
<nebadon> yea its odd I can't imagine why it would have really had any negative effect using it
<zmike> seems like a bnieuwenhuizen issue

<zmike> anholt: I'm looking into making glthread more selective, but it doesn't look like there's a way to determine if a driconf entry is active (i.e., if an entry exists for the overall driconf cache at all)
<zmike> or...I guess maybe the issue is that bool isn't a tristate here
<zmike> dunno what kind of solution is more optimal, but that seems like what I'd need to fully handle it on UMA systems like igpu intel
<zmike> anholt: actually, what's the gfxbench exe name? it looks like there's an explicit driconf entry to enable glthread?
