<gabertron> "anybody managed to get audio..." <- how did you get widevine working ?
<mahmoudajawad[m]>
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]> "There's quite a bit of file..." <- I might simply analyze the archive of this channel and try to start building such a reference regardless of its accuracy.
<mahmoudajawad[m]>
I'll try to invest sometime in this coming days.
<JosDehaes[m]>
no idea if it works, still no audio with this
<JosDehaes[m]>
I would say, sound and suspend are the 2 most important missing things on the yoga

<colemickens> "yeah, the boot log is telling me..." <- the firmware might also be missing from the initrd. i know i have this problem with nixos on x13s where the USB controller doesn't come up either. it's probably a combination of module choice/ordering and lack of firmware
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
steveej: colemickens fyi i get the exact same thing from fedora
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
Ironically though if i flash a fresh image, and add the dtb and boot params to the grub launcher, it starts.
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
As soon as i regenerate though, even if i retain the default kernel, it fails
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
I mean, the boot no longer succeeds
<amstan>
steev Jos Dehaes mahmoudajawad : please miminize the matrix only features like replies, it really spams things over on irc
<abby>
steev is on irc lol
<steev>
FarchordSteveCossette[m]: have you tried keeping a copy of the original initrd and the comparing the contents of the two?
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
steev: I don't really know _what_ to look for tbh lol
<steev>
I’d just extract the original and the new and look and see what might be different
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
I'll be honest... I've been bashing my head on this problem day in and day out so hard that the USB-C port is actually starting to become loose
<steev>
abby: he probably meant steveej[m] ) I’m used to the accidental pings, I used to be in a channel where there were 3 of us named steve in some way or other (and a couple that weren’t but we were all friends and used first names
<abby>
:D
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
I think I'll just wait for things to become stable
<steev>
👍
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
I honestly was more expecting a gang of people giving me isos saying "Try this, if it crashes send us the logs", then I do, send them the logs, and rinse and repeat. But I get it you guys have different machines and that's fine
<amstan>
steveej is who i meant to highlight, damn autocomplete
<steev>
donations are always accepted :D
<lollaritits[m]>
anyone has any idea how to get box86 to compile?
<gabertron>
lollaritits[m]: https://github.com/AsahiLinux/widevine-installer/tree/main give that a try .. in my case I also copied the files it installed in /var over to /usr/ — after stracing chromium it looked like it was looking in /use/lib…. For the widevine cdm .so file — but just copy the files from var over to usr that it installs in the same folder structure
<f_>
FarchordSteveCossette[m]: Sometimes that command doesn't work, in which case you can send a raw IRC message: "!cmd NICK <your desired nick here>" ("NICK" must be uppercase for the bridge to be happy, despite commands on IRC not being case-sensitive)
<f_>
just FYI
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
Yeah except if I do that, it changes it on ALL my servers, not just this one
<f_>
FarchordSteveCossette[m]: No, it only changes it on OFTC.
<f_>
Each net has a different bridge bot.
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
Alright, for the sake of argument, let's do a test
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
It wont even let me send
FarchordSteveCossette[m] is now known as Farchord[m]
<f_>
you just did a /nick on your client, right?
<Farchord[m]>
nvm it did. And it changed it everywhere as I thought
<f_>
It appears you just changed nick on your client
<f_>
I said to send a command to @oftc-irc:matrix.org
<f_>
not change nick globally :P
Farchord[m] is now known as FarchordSteveCossette[m]
<f_>
I said to open a private message with @oftc-irc:matrix.org, and sending it "!nick <your desired nick here>"
<f_>
That is a message you need to send to the @oftc-irc bot, not a command in your matrix client.
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
yeah I get it....
<f_>
That will *only* change your nick on OFTC IRC, and that is it.
<FarchordSteveCossette[m]>
I have a strange feeling I'll have to redo that often
<f_>
if you have to redo that often then the bridge is just extremely b0rked as always
<f_>
But normally you shouldn't have to redo this often
<f_>
just once and rejoice
<colemickens>
Drat. I tried adding "uas" to my initrd kernel modules but still not seeing my jump drive during boot. :(
