abelvesa: awesome thanks will try that!
<gabertron>
slim -- don't want to distract from the effort there
<gabertron>
btw abelvesa: I'm getting a couple of seconds into the kernel boot and then it reboots using github.com/jhovold/linux.git -b wip/x1e80100-6.10-rc6-gpu -- (I am using earlycon=efifb and console=efifb in order to see where it reboots in kernel boot process) and using the yoga slim dts on my t14s -- anyway I'm not in a huge rush or anything, so I'm fine to just wait while people figure out more stuff on the yoga

gabertron: try adding arm64.nopauth to your command line arguments
<gabertron>
i actually already have that -- also just tried without it and same thing -- i get to here:

gabertron: did that help or nah? (i'm most interested in the t14s so curious when you get something that works)

steev: the efi=novamap or the arm64.nopauth ? I've tried both and did not see success on that.. I probably need to start trying to disable more things in the dts or something.. will try to take another look at it tonight
<steev>
Can you show what your kernel command line is?

<\[m]>
do you want more memory or different cpu in the t14s
<kalebris>
how (if at all) universal is it to have the fingerprint reader at /sys/bus/usb/devices/5-4 on the x13s?
srinik has joined #aarch64-laptops
<craftyguy>
kalebris: are fingerprint readers on all x13s variants? I don't have anything at that location on my x13s, but I'm not sure if I have a fingerprint reader, I've never looked/cared about it
JensGlathe[m] has joined #aarch64-laptops
<JensGlathe[m]>
its integrated into the power button afaik
<craftyguy>
ah ok. ya so nothing at that sysfs location for me...
<craftyguy>
using Johan's 6.10-rc6 kernel
<JensGlathe[m]>
hmm nothing here
<jhovold>
kalebris: the bus numbers are not stable, but I assume all x13s have a fingerprint reader
<jhovold>
craftyguy, JensGlathe[m]: check lsusb -t for a Synaptics device
<jhovold>
or lsusb rather
<JensGlathe[m]>
nope
<JensGlathe[m]>
do you need to enable it in the UEFI BIOS?

\[m] : in my case I just happened to get the t14s before I could order the yoga -- so I have a yoga also on the way -- should arrive in about 12 days from now ..
<gabertron>
steev: I'll get the kernel command line later tonight
<bluerise_>
how did you get ahold of a t14s?
<bluerise_>
everypne I know has them shiiping on 21st or 27th or aomething
<steev>
\[m]: i'd like a 64GB ram edition of the T14s (assuming they'll make one available), but really, it's because i have defcon, and a wedding (not mine) coming up, so i can't put the money towards it

JensGlathe[m]: craftyguy: ^ that's what i see here, using johan's stuff from -rc6+mine on top of rc7
<gabertron>
I ordered my t14s back in may when stuff was announced
<colemickens>
probably the ideal place to build from right now anyway.
<colemickens>
thank you abby

(what bootloaders are y'all using, presumably systemd-boot/grub should work if setup with the right devicetree param)

I'm using grub, building from that repo, but I've gone a step back. I was getting initial boot messages with an older kernel version and the cdb.dtb, but now I'm just getting a black screen and reboot
<frozen_cheese[m]>
using the lenovo-yoga-slim7x.dtb
<frozen_cheese[m]>
thinking I forgot to enable something in the kernel config... and I've already erased the one that was working :p
