<tobhe_> um... it looks like someone has added a few semi helpful links here in the last few commits https://github.com/AsahiLinux/docs/wiki/SW:Alternative-Distros/_history
<tobhe_> the mesa one in particular seems to be bad advise...

<tobhe_> ok if I remove those links for now? I think they add more confusion than they could possibly help. most are just build instructions for tools that are already available from the repos...

<leif> go for it. There's too much clutter there for sure. All that's really needed is the https://github.com/tobhe/ubuntu-asahi link. Any post-install tasks should moved somewhere else.

<tobhe_> thx, removed them for now

<ayke_> How do I install Debian alongside the default Arch based distro? Is it just a matter of following the Debian install guide?
<ayke_> cy8aer: I know where to find the installation guide. My question is whether it will affect the existing Arch Linux install.
<cy8aer> So you want to install a second distro on the system? There were some problems with this some time ago. As I remember the boot partitions were mixed up. And it was discussed here at #asahi-alt.
<cy8aer> There it was the combination Fedora - Debian. @Glanzmann was involved with it. Eventually it was fixed with a new m1n1 but I am not sure
<ayke_> Hmmm okay thanks
<ayke_> Yeah indeed, I want a second distro
<cy8aer> Maybe @Glanzmann can help if he sees these posts.
<cy8aer> ok, just searched for this: It was a thread around Dec 4 2022 about 20:00...
<mps> ayke_: idk for debian, but I'm sure it is posible to add another distro
<mps> but that should be done manually
<cy8aer> Ah, @Jannau was involved too.
<cy8aer> sorry jannau - there was the problem that you cannot mix up the partitions and put the second dist behind the first somehow.
<ayke_> cy8aer: thanks, I've read the logs. Sounds like something that isn't quite sorted out yet.
<ayke_> Was hoping it would just work.
<ayke_> Maybe I'll try another day, or will just replace Arch entirely.
