<marcan> j_ey: 70GB is still good enough, assuming you delete old installer garbage and such if it ends up left over

<marcan> you can install m1n1 "on top of" macOS but it's not recommended unless you're using that to run that macOS instance under the HV
<marcan> I'm actually probably going to nuke my 2nd macOS install on my mini soon, and just say my first is the main one (mostly to use with the HV) and the second one linux only, so I can try the installer out on the second one
<marcan> since I don't really have a use for a "normal" macOS install on this machine, it's just a dev box (that's what the air is for)

<marcan> streaming installer shenanigans in a bit: https://youtu.be/uqPLyBS20PA
<MTecknology> My M1 mini is only going to be useful as a linux system, but I very much like the safety net that the dual boot option provides.
<MTecknology> (now that I understand what that means and what recovery looks like)

<MTecknology> eh, should clarify that I knew what dual booting meant, just not in mac context

<j_ey> marcan: missed the last few mins, you got Linux 2 working, with m1n1?
<marcan> yeah
<j_ey> great
<marcan> this is copying files from an existing install, but other than that user database stuff, nothing I shouldn't know how to create
<marcan> the user DB stuff is interesting though, because that was a prior problem/thing that was broken
<marcan> I wonder if it works for a first install; if it does we may be able to bypass the need for macos at all, at some point
