<lumag>
cwabbott, as a followup to your UBWC changes. Might it be that this also fixes the issue on a610 (see 6a0dbcd20ef2 ("drm/msm/a6xx: set highest_bank_bit to 13 for a610") )
<cwabbott>
lumag: no
<lumag>
ack
<cwabbott>
that issue is probably the display or something setting it wrong
<cwabbott>
when you get corruption with UBWC, it's always because two components are setting different config values
<lumag>
cwabbott, well, now we are setting different config values to fix the issue.
<lumag>
For the reference, the image was mostly ok with some of the rectangles (macroblocks?) containing odd pixel data
<cwabbott>
hmm, that doesn't really sound like hbb mismatch
<cwabbott>
the hbb affects how y is swizzled into x macrotile offset, so when it's wrong you'll see every other row be chopped up and reordered
<cwabbott>
iirc for rgba8 a macrotile is 8 pixels high
<cwabbott>
lumag: looking at msm_mdss.c, I'm not sure you're actually setting the hbb to 14 there
<cwabbott>
that's the earlier decoder version, when UBWC_STATIC isn't documented
<lumag>
cwabbott, I'll doublecheck it on the hardware and get back to you (probably tomorrow or somewhat later).
<cwabbott>
sm6115_data has "highest_bank_bit = 0x1," but that's not used anywhere so it could be a total lie
<cwabbott>
".ubwc_static = 0x11f," is the actually relevant thing
<lumag>
cwabbott, it means HBB = 1, I'm looking at the register definition.
<daniels>
lumag, cwabbott: s/esktop/reno/ ;)
<daniels>
vsyrjala: fixed
<mripard>
daniels: for the new process, we could probably do it like what intel has been doing: a main branch with an issue template to request an account and we dont' have to go through freedesktop/freedesktop anymoer?

daniels, true.
