<Marijn[m]> <bamse> "and what i suggested above was..." <- Having an interrupt parent instead of hardcoding/repeating the USID seems nicer regardless of this issue tbh

<Robbbbbb> Hi all, I'm working on porting mainline linux to the Oneplus 9 (SM8350) and I'm trying to bring up the modem. So far I've updated the DT to enable the modem nodes and add the firmware (https://github.com/ElRoberto538/linux/blob/sm8350/arch/arm64/boot/dts/qcom/sm8350-oneplus-lemonade.dts), if I ssh in and install pd-mapper, tqftpserv, qrtr & rmtfs, enable them all and reboot I can see a timeout error in dmesg as it tries to bri
<Robbbbbb> Are there any obvious steps I'm missing? Do newer modems from qcom require mba.mbn? I couldn't find it on my downstream device and I don't see any device past the SDM845 using it

<z3ntu> Robbbbbb: On sm6350 (also relatively new but not as new as 8350) I only have modem.mdt & modem.b*
<z3ntu> And please share the exact error message
<Robbbbbb> qcom_q6v5_pas 4080000.remoteproc: start timed out
<Robbbbbb> remoteproc remoteproc0: can't start rproc 4080000.remoteproc: -110 [ 18.705056] remoteproc remoteproc0: Boot failed: -110
<Robbbbbb> Also:
<Robbbbbb> oneplus-lemonade:~$ qrtr-lookup Service Version Instance Node Port 14 1 0 1 14 Remote file system service 4096 1 0 1 16386 <unknown> 15 1 64 10 1 Test service 43 2 23 10 2 Subsystem control service 66 1 76 10 3 Service registry notification service 51 1 13 10 6 CoreSight remote
<Robbbbbb> Ah sorry never used IRC, not sure how to format correctly. qrtr lookup is showing some services as cdsp.mbn seems to load as remoteproc1 correctly
<z3ntu> Why do you have `mcfg_hw.mbn` referenced in your dts?
<lumag_> Robbbbbb, use pastebin to post formatted text
<Robbbbbb> I was mashing around seeing if I could get it to do anything differently. Need to push my revert of that
<z3ntu> and you're sure your modem.mbn comes from the stock software? It very likely needs to be correctly signed so that it boots
<z3ntu> by oneplus in your example
<Robbbbbb> Hmm, It did come from the same device I am porting, but It was modem.mdt (and co-files) and I used pil-squasher to squash them into an mbn file.
<z3ntu> that should leave the signature intact so should be ok
<Robbbbbb> Can you link your work on the sm6350? Would be good to compare and see if i'm missing something
<z3ntu> Also check outputs of the user space services, especially rmtfs & tqftpserv
<Robbbbbb> thanks will have a read. Also stupid question, how do I get irc to show the chat history when I connect, need to go soon and closing this https://webchat.oftc.net page looses all history on re-connect
<z3ntu> An IRC bouncer is used for that, but you also have a matrix account you can join via https://matrix.to/#/#_oftc_#linux-msm:matrix.org

<robbbbbb[m]> Cool thanks, will double check the output of the services, I was working on it a couple of weeks ago and I remember them looking good, the only error I can see is that timeout error from dmesg

<Mis012[m]> bamse: it is my understanding that the FLAT is generated based on HDL, so presumably the register is specified as having one 32bit field for some reason
<Mis012[m]> one possible explanation for being defined weirdly is if it's some sort of bypass that allows accessing stuff inside the SSC block without the AHB bus being operational, but that's just wild speculation
