<marc|gonzalez> konradybcio: lumag: do you guys know of a board with functional audio over HDMI that I could copy from for msm8998?
<marc|gonzalez> At this point, 'tinymix contents' reports 1 control: BOOL 1 Headset Jack Off
<marc|gonzalez> hmmm, looking at sound/soc/qcom/lpass-hdmi.c & commit 7cb37b7bd0d3c9
<marc|gonzalez> Angelo's sound/soc/qcom/lpass-msm8998.c does include .ops = &asoc_qcom_lpass_hdmi_dai_ops for .id = LPASS_DP_RX in msm8998_lpass_cpu_dai_driver
<marc|gonzalez> lpass-sc7180.c & lpass-sc7280.c are the only drivers to have .ops = &asoc_qcom_lpass_hdmi_dai_ops
<marc|gonzalez> Looks like I'm probably missing a full DT node like lpass_cpu: audio@3987000
<marc|gonzalez> Found commit aee6873edb93a3 ... Are Srinivasa or Venkata active in the channel?
<konradybcio> marc|gonzalez: fwiw i don't think Angelo had any 98 board with hdmi
<marc|gonzalez> I know, I know (and I cry every night)
<marc|gonzalez> I'm just trying to bridge the missing parts with something that works from another board
<marc|gonzalez> I will confess that the sound subsystem is a huge black box for me at this point :(
<konradybcio> more of common knowledge than a confession
<marc|gonzalez> this is a snipe, right?
<marc|gonzalez> snipe or swipe
<konradybcio> What I meant to say is only a small bunch of people, not including myself, know stuff about sound/, and it doesnt seem to be terribly well documented
<marc|gonzalez> oh, because it could be read in a very different way smirk
<marc|gonzalez> the multimedia subsystems seem less well documented than others
<marc|gonzalez> konradybcio: sc7280 is like sdm845?
<konradybcio> Largely
<marc|gonzalez> but sdm845 no longer supports HDMI while sc7280 does?
<marc|gonzalez> lumag said something like msm8998 is the last chip with HDMI TX
<konradybcio> rg HDMI drivers/gpu/drm/msm/disp/dpu1/catalog gives you the answer
<konradybcio> (neither 845 nor 7280 has hdmi)
<konradybcio> some boards however ship with a dsi-hdmi bridge
<konradybcio> but then to mdss, it's still a DSI device
<abhinav__> marc|gonzalez konradybcio yes thats right. msm8998 was the last chip with HDMI TX in the DPU

<aka_[m]> DPU alone have HDMI_MHL releated registers even on 855
<aka_[m]> 8250 seems to have some on Engineering design i believe
<aka_[m]> lumag: do you know anything about gpu freq scalling to be broken on sdm660?
pespin has quit []
<abhinav__> aka_[m] I am not sure which regs you are referring to on 855 but there is no HDMI tx block on 855. on sm8250 also thee is no hdmi tx. we only support dsi to hdmi using lontium bridge chip on the rb5s
<aka_[m]> uh 8250 have just bunch of LPASS_HDMITX
<aka_[m]> there is also some HDMI_CTRL_ADDR no idea whats this
