<mps> mripard_: you are right. fixing order of mmc cards is still not stable with aliases I added
<mps> with this it still sometimes not ordered as I expected
<mps> so, I removed patches from my local build (and draft build for alpine linux)
<mps> PARTUUID is more appropriate for my use cases

<Mangy_Dog> https://www.vectorsynth.com/ soooooo this synth module uses a 10 year old mediatek soc as its core... So really its just a software synth running in a stripped down linux enviroment..... I wonder why they didnt just do a software synth
<karlp> sounds like they did?
<Mangy_Dog> well i mean like a software plugin for cubase and other daws
<Mangy_Dog> maybe im just being too cynical
<Mangy_Dog> the trouble is like any other software synth
<Mangy_Dog> its not "real time"
<Mangy_Dog> so theres always going to be a delay
<Mangy_Dog> i was kinda hoping it to be some kind of hardware synth controlled by software
<Mangy_Dog> So the midi all runs true real time
<Mangy_Dog> but has a software top layer to set the hardware modules

<libv> Mangy_Dog: not a synth, but still: https://linux-sunxi.org/Soundcraft_UI12
<Mangy_Dog> what is it?
<libv> a mixer
<Mangy_Dog> ohh
<libv> an A20 attached to a dsp
<Mangy_Dog> nodnods
<Mangy_Dog> but i guess again.... its software on soc so it isnt going to be quick :/
<Mangy_Dog> well
<Mangy_Dog> realtime zero latency
<libv> in case of the mixer, i am sure that a lot of interesting things could be done with the dsp with comparatively low overhead
<libv> but who is going to write the code to do so?
<Mangy_Dog> the developers of the hardware im sure :p
<Mangy_Dog> i mean im not trying to rip vector a new one
<Mangy_Dog> theyve made something cool
<Mangy_Dog> and sounds good too
<Mangy_Dog> but in the end its just software running on an SOC... kinda feels...
<Mangy_Dog> cheated
<Mangy_Dog> but its going to have the same kind of over head as any software synth
<Mangy_Dog> latency
<Mangy_Dog> if any of you played with cubase and software synths know as the projects get more complicated, even on a good sound card you can be hitting double figures in latency rather quickly... and when you trying to play life to that, the offset is REALLY jaring
<Mangy_Dog> live
