is there a way to assign cutom vlans to wifi adapters under DSA?
<PaulFertser>
frirajder: should be possible with regular bridging? Or do you want wifi frames to have vlan tags?
<frirajder>
no, no vlans on wifi. It's about Guest wifi setup, but instead of creating separete bridge for each VLAN I would like to use the VLAN Filtering option of DSA, is it possible?

using VLAN Filtering would be especially useful for Dumb AP cases - one could just remove the CPU port from specific VLANs instead of configuring firewall

Hello! Is there anyone familiar with tp-link tl-wdr4900 v1?
rejoicetreat has joined #openwrt-devel
<Slimey>
what about it
<rua>
I want to make its switch LEDs blink according to link speed, just like tl-wdr4900 v2 does, so I managed to modify its device tree ( on qca,ar8327-initvals ), and flashed to the "dtb" partition via kmod-mtd-rw, bnut my modification does not take effect.
<rua>
Even if I set register 0x50 0x54 0x58 both to zero, switch LEDs remains blinking in 4Hz.
<Slimey>
tp-link tl-wdr4900 v1 is a mpc85xx target
<Slimey>
p1010
<rua>
I know, but why my modification in the device tree does not take effect?
<rua>
Damaging the device tree does make kernel unable to boot.
<Slimey>
might try asking on the forums also, im not sure im having my own deals with crazy mpc85xx targets :P
<rua>
I should load a valid dtb via tftp from its severely castrated u-boot and flash it back to fix the damage.

It seems that the device tree on tl-wdr4900 v1 is only used to pass device parameters to the Linux kernel, while u-boot is responsible to set up those devices, and Linux is unable to set them again.

hi, having (probably some noob) LuCi question: I have a custom index page here, which seems to have worked with OpenWrt from 2016, but does not anymore with OpenWrt 18.06. it can't retrieve UCI variables anymore
T_X_ is now known as T_X
<T_X>
if I remove the line "uci:set_session_id(sid)" in the dispatcher.lua, things work again
<T_X>
in the function session_retrieve()
<T_X>
page.sysauth_authenticator is set to "htmlauth". and according to added debug output in dispatcher.lua's dispatch() function the htmlauth code path is executed correctly (session_setup() is called in there correctly, for instance)
<T_X>
to me the custom index page looks very similar to modules/luci-mod-admin-full/luasrc/controller/admin/index.lua. I couldn't spot the difference which might cause this issue so far

T_X what about openwrt 19.xx or 21.xx?
rejoicetreat has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<T_X>
Tapper: had initially started to try 19.07 but there seemed to be more changes needed due to the migration of some stuff from Lua to javascript. so I had postponed that step for now

anything other than LuCi is already on OpenWrt 19.07 though. not sure if that mix could cause some strange issues?

<mrkiko>
hello all! I'm trying to port a device from ar71xx to ath79. I am stuck in the ethernet part.
<mrkiko>
I can see some ping replies from the router, but ping doesn't seem them. Like they arrive too late
<mrkiko>
I have the device running in openwrt / ar71xx, would need little bit of help in getting the needed information
<hauke>
mrkiko: are TX and RX working but having huge delays?
<hauke>
or just a lot of packet loses?
<mrkiko>
hauke: I guess both
<mrkiko>
hauke: surely delay, not able to ssh
<mrkiko>
ping isn't able to see answers, tcpdump does. So I think both. Now I have the device back up in ar71xx
<mrkiko>
hauke: netgear r6100
<hauke>
Do you see this on all ports?
<mrkiko>
hauke: may I share with you a copy of my dts so far?
<hauke>
it could be related to some misconfigurted TX and RX RGMII delay
<mrkiko>
i tried to inspire from devices with same C config code
<mrkiko>
eth0: Atheros AG71xx at 0xb9000000, irq 4, mode: mii
<mrkiko>
ag71xx-mdio.1: Found an AR934X built-in switch
<mrkiko>
eth1: Atheros AG71xx at 0xba000000, irq 5, mode: gmii
<hauke>
mrkiko: rgmii, rgmii-id could be related to your problem
<hauke>
I think someone was working on backproting a patch which allows to see the packet younters on the CPU port of the switch
<Tapper>
T_X Hi I don't know if you are still around, but why would you be working on such a old build Of OpenWrt? What is the use of making code work on a OS that is years out of date.
abiliomarques has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<mrkiko>
hauke: is there a way I might have some infos from the running system?
<mrkiko>
hauke: otherwise I'll have to go by attempts
<hauke>
minimal: you could read out the registers on the working system and compare them with the broken version
<mrkiko>
hauke: eh, since I have no UART...
<mrkiko>
hauke: would you mind helping me start so I can go on?
<hauke>
mrkiko: you can use PACKAGE_io to read arbitary memory like registers
<hauke>
looking at the switch counters would be interesting to see if you have CRC errors
<mrkiko>
hauke: let's see
