<dansan> I'm building v21.02.0 and getting unstripped files installed in build_dir/target-mipsel_24kc_musl/root-ramips. Anybody else having this? I've got CONFIG_DEBUG=y, CONFIG_USE_STRIP=y and CONFIG_STRIP_ARGS="--strip-unneeded --remove-section=.comment --remove-section=.note"
<dansan> strange. a functional change in strip? I just ran it manually and it did nothing
<dansan> I suppose I should examine the obj file more closely

<dansan> was using binutils 2.35.1, going to downgrade to 2.34 and see what I get
<dansan> Ahhh, there's nothing quite like the bleeding edge, eh? :P)

<fda-> stintel: im still trying to find the problem..........
<fda-> have you more than 1 vlan?
<fda-> and every vlan/lan has another /64 subnet?
fda has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<fda-> my current state: tagget vlans seems not be problematic
<fda-> but the untagged (internally vlan1) get all advertisements
<fda-> im not sure if it is related to e8450/mt7622/dsa or odhcpd
<fda-> i checked it by typdump on a remote host which has no ipv6 enabled at all, just only vlans
<fda-> but on the openwrt device, iptables-log show outgoing the correct device, eg br-lan.1
<fda-> to force bad packet restart odhcpd and then watch ICMPv6/TYPE=134

<will[m]> any advice on adding openssl with a modern set of ciphers? when i use curl it complains about cipher overlap
<mangix> will[m]: friends don't let friends use openssl
<mangix> :)
<will[m]> any advice on installing curl from opkg and having it not complain about cipher overlap?
<mangix> curl by default uses wolfssl AFAIK
<mangix> which is actually even worse but meh
<will[m]> exactly
<will[m]> i think the default curl package with wolfssl may be the culprit but in any case the question stands, why fetching ssl suck so bad
<mangix> will[m]: on Debian, I can't do git clone https:// because of an HTTP 2.0 failure. libcurl issue of course.
<will[m]> weeee
<mangix> curl is in general a mess
<will[m]> at the end of the day, openwrt get secure https how
<mangix> openwrt uses uclient-fetch by default
<mangix> libustream
<mangix> https://git.openwrt.org/?p=project/ustream-ssl.git;a=summary
<will[m]> i like how that has the same exact arguments as its wget
<will[m]> same issue btw
<will[m]> connection failed, likely due to no cipher overlap
<mangix> weird. you have libustream-openssl installed?

<will[m]> mangix: nope
<will[m]> Package libustream-openssl20201210 wants to install file /lib/libustream-ssl.so But that file is already provided by package * libustream-wolfssl20201210
<fda-> debian is always 5 years in the past...
<fda-> remove wolfssl if you want openssl
<fda-> anyone notice dns problems at the moment?

<olmari> so, if I compile ustp, is there anywhere to configure some rstp "parameters"? mainly a port being point to point and other maybe "edge", but the first one is kinda the thing :)
<olmari> at the moment I have 2 tplink archer c7 v2's and 1 tplink wdr4300 all as AP into some Juniper backend
<olmari> ofcourse even more generally how supported rstp and such can be, apart from all sorts of info is scarse in internets :)
<olmari> Looking at this https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/staging/nbd.git;a=summary makes me indeed seeing really recent doings on this thing, so maybe there is hope ;P

<mangix> Alright. NTFS is merged. Who will be handling the backport?
<hauke> many MS technologies added to kernel 5.15 with NTFS3 + ksmb
<rsalvaterra> mangix: We're not backporting ntfs to 5.10… are we…? o_O
<mangix> rsalvaterra: says who? :)
<rsalvaterra> Come to think of it, it's not a lot of patches… I'm not volunteering, though. :P
<mangix> The good news is the next OpenWrt release will have everything.
* rsalvaterra doesn't even have a hard drive with an ntfs filesystem for testing…
<rsalvaterra> mangix: Except for whatever comes next. :)
<mangix> Paragon still hasn't released their mkfs NTFS tool
<rsalvaterra> Oh, no fsck?
<mangix> I mean...the patchset got merged today
<mangix> I'm sure they'll release the user space stuff soon.
<rsalvaterra> In this case, the userspace fsck tool should have arguably been released *before* the merge…
<mangix> I want antfs and NTFS 3g gone
<rsalvaterra> I don't build my kernes with fuse support at all. :P
<rsalvaterra> *kernels
<mangix> Hah. I remember a user complaining about ksmbd crashing. The crash was in fuse. He was using ksmbd with NTFS 3G
<mangix> That thing is not even maintained
<mangix> I am somewhat amused that the driver supports POSIX ACLs and permissions so you can install a Linux distro on it. I imagine fragmentation would be a problem.
<rsalvaterra> I think I used ntfs3g exactly once… to recover my girlfriend's dying external drive (gddrescued it to an image and loop-mounted it, just to make sure).
