02:36 <hurricos> For those boards, I would expect the `/lib/upgrade/nand.sh` would have an exception where you can poke through and provide what the bootloader needs in an ordered format, and then once it's booted into a kernel, have the kernel turn around and attach to UBI and get its rootfs

02:42 <hurricos> It's just odd that the reason I cannot use ubi for rootfs is because u-boot doesn't understand ubi, even though u-boot doesn't care about the rootfs -- if I use ubi at all for rootfs I MUST use it for the kernel due to how `nand.sh` is written.
