<Noki> Hi there! I wanted to ask if someone could please make a new release of the mt76 driver and also backport it to 22.03. There are so many fixes related to MT7915E and the Wifi is currently totally unstable in MT7915E. I have one of the Zyxel devices that was named in the 22.03.2 release notes and it is unusable so far. :-(

<f0g> Hi all. I found that in both build_dir and staging_dir there is a rootfs directory. What's the difference of them? Which one should I use in the final image?
<f0g> It looks like that the rootfs in build_dir has more contents than staging_dir. But from the openwrt wiki, openwrt should install all the build result to staging_dir, right?

<stintel> hahaha got an ipad today, the piece of shit refuses to my network that all other of my devices just connect to
<stintel> stupid stupid stupid incompatible crapple
<stintel> of course doesn't help that you can't show the password while typing it
<stintel> *facepalm*
<stintel> fun stuff with a 37 char psk
<enyc> stintel: I noticed tat with older ipad, had to create a WPA2-only AP before it would work
<stintel> it's an ipad9
<stintel> not that old
<stintel> what a junk
<enyc> stintel: whatever it was, software was no longer supported / updated by apple
<stintel> ipad9 is from 2021
<stintel> asking to verify email while I already did this
<Borromini> well who buys apple stuff anyway huh? :P
<stintel> omg seriously what total junk
<Borromini> was it a Black Friday offer?
<stintel> yeah :P
<stintel> and I wanted to get an ios device for a while, just to have at least one for some testing here and there
<stintel> so far it only confirms what I've been saying forever: apple is total crap
<stintel> pretty sure it's wanking about the psk3-mixed with optional 802.11w
<stintel> my guest network is psk2 with optional 11w, connects fine
<stintel> I probably downgraded that for visitors with icrap
<stintel> but hey I bought this thing, I'm going to harass apple until they fix this
<Borromini> bbbbut
<Borromini> Apple is defective by design and its userbase loves it for that :^)
<Borromini> good luck :P

<stintel> the battery life is probably going to be impressive though
<stintel> good for netflix on plane I guess
<Borromini> :)
<SlimeyX> ideas?
<SlimeyX> using uncompressed fdt Booting using the fdt blob at 0x160bb40
<SlimeyX> Uncompressing Kernel Image ... Unimplemented compression type 3
<stintel> so yeah it's a known thing, I need to set PMF to required if I want to keep using psk3-mixed
<stintel> so the "fix" is to add another ssid
<stintel> like I don't have enough already
<SlimeyX> if i had a nickel for everytime a student with a apple device came into my office for wifi issues id be rich

<f00b4r0> stintel: not sure why you buy stuff you assume is garbage. Masochism? ;)
<f00b4r0> personally I enjoy my apple devices, although I would never buy an iPad :)

<stintel> f00b4r0: cheapest ios device, my job involves wifi, it's good to have a wide range of testing clients
<f00b4r0> ic ;)
<f00b4r0> wifi range on apple devices tend to err on the up side of spectacular, in my experience
<stintel> well I've been using this thing for half an hour or so and battey still 100%
<stintel> that's either impressive, or deceptive :P
<f00b4r0> yeah that's the other thing that tends to be spectacular ;)

<vulpes2[m]> in my experience all devices that are intolerant of PMF will refuse to connect even if it's set to optional
<vulpes2[m]> so I have a special ssid for those problematic devices
<vulpes2[m]> the worst part about troubleshooting these PMF-intolerant devices is that there are no meaningful error messages on both sides whatsoever

<owrt-snap-builds> Build [#833](https://buildbot.openwrt.org/master/images/#builders/1/builds/833) of `ath79/generic` failed.
<f00b4r0> more systemd woes. Stuck in boot loop and no clear sign as to why. I hate this thing.
