Is there any chance to get the latest MT76 fixes backported to 22.03? Wifi on MT7915 is really unstable and there is a newer MT76 release on master (still unstable) and even more fixes in the MT76 repo.
<Borromini>
JS42: they can be backported cleanly if you'd like AFAIK, but you'd have to build your own
minimal has joined #openwrt-devel
<Borromini>
even if it were backported to 22.03 you'd still need a new point release to get official binaries (unless the 22.03 snapshots are still going)
MaxS0niX has joined #openwrt-devel
<stintel>
JS42: unstable how?
<stintel>
I've been running master on 7915e for about a year and it's been a dream
<JS42>
Borromini: Building my own is nothing I have done before, that's why I came here to ask. I am not a developer. 22.03-Snapshots are still build whenever something changes, but from seeing those fixes there for so long it looks kind of abandoned.
<stintel>
I'd go as far as call it near ath9k stable

stintel: sorry, baby business. I think mac80211 between 22.03 and master is still the same, no? I've backported nbd's latest mt76 bumps to 22.03, that did not improve the issue unfortunately.
<Borromini>
yep, wireless stack is identical.
<JS42>
Borromini: Did you bump to the latest mt76 release or did you backport all the fixes up to Nov 19, 2022?
<schmars[m]>
can i get buildroot to give me a list of all device profiles? (or the imagebuilder, fwiw)

schmars[m]: for IB, make info
<JS42>
Borromini: ok, so that is identical to master. I tried that one as well without success.
<JS42>
anyway, have to go now... cu around

What *is* the right way to force a procd service to wait for network-up?
<hurricos>
Re-order in /etc/rc.d isn't going to do it -- the service in question is already at S98.
<karlp>
hurricos: hotplug scripts to start it, and an empty boot() I believe
<hurricos>
ok, other question
<hurricos>
much harder one I imagine
<hurricos>
how does one procd_add_jail_mount a file referred to by a symlink?
<hurricos>
I just realized I can readlink -f nvm
<hurricos>
jesus I thought that was going to be a nightmare
<hurricos>
well it will be if that file changes

OK, so the problem is that sysntpd's bind mounts cannot be adjusted after the fact, thus when it starts before /etc/resolv.conf is finalized it has problems
