tobhe changed the topic of #ubuntu-asahi to: Ubuntu-Asahi development | Github: https://github.com/UbuntuAsahi | Logs: https://oftc.irclog.whitequark.org/ubuntu-asahi
<tobhe[m]> <kaazoo> "tobhe: Any luck with a newer..." <- i'll try to finish this up now
<tobhe[m]> need to seriously start looking into noble too
<tobhe[m]> new mantic mesa is building here: https://launchpad.net/~tobhe/+archive/ubuntu/mesa-test
<tobhe[m]> need to backport those changes to jammy and then when it works rebuild the snap
ennoausberlin has joined #ubuntu-asahi
<ennoausberlin> Hi. After lack of sleep and stressed by kids in the morning, I accidentally deleted one of the Asahi partitions. Ubuntu-boot and ubuntu-root are still there. Can I recover from this without new install everything?
ennoausberlin has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<eslerm[m]> can this be pulled?
<eslerm[m]> I explored the held back packages some
<eslerm[m]> the grub package that ubuntu-asahi 1.6 added was installed on my jammy desktop install
<tobhe[m]> looks ok to me
<tobhe[m]> can't comment on gh rn
<tobhe[m]> so what's causing those packages being held back then?
<tobhe[m]> maybe we need to look at a fresh installation
<tobhe[m]> <ennoausberlin> "Hi. After lack of sleep and..." <- not sure what's missing. certainly not an easy fix
amurray has quit [Quit: ZNC 1.7.5+deb4 - https://znc.in]
amurray has joined #ubuntu-asahi
<eslerm[m]> <tobhe[m]> "maybe we need to look at a fresh..." <- on my Desktop system, the grub package was manually installed, but not by me
<eslerm[m]> must have been a script
<tobhe[m]> ok yes that sounds likely
<tobhe[m]> are you saying it shouldn't be?
<tobhe[m]> <tobhe[m]> "new mantic mesa is building here..." <- they were successful it seems
<eslerm[m]> <tobhe[m]> "are you saying it shouldn't be?" <- I'm not claiming that, but `apt upgrade` will not assign them. you need to forcefully `apt upgrade <package>` which appears to have been done by a script
<eslerm[m]> a fresh install sounds needed to really test though
<eslerm[m]> > <@th:stusta.de> are you saying it shouldn't be?
<eslerm[m]> * I'm not claiming that, but `apt upgrade` will not auto install them. you need to forcefully `apt upgrade <package>` which appears to have been done by a script
<eslerm[m]> a fresh install sounds needed to really test though
