steev: you backported to 5.12? i just compiled your latest 5.12 earlier today. i dont want anything thats broken:)
<steev>
i guess you could call it backported
<steev>
it works on both of mine, so i'd say it works
<derzahl>
oh, neat
<derzahl>
so it works better than 5.13?
<steev>
imo, yes, but it's a shame that 5.12 is EOL
<derzahl>
yeh, ill say. i finally got zfs-dkms to compile on 5.12
<derzahl>
not sure if it works on 5.13 or not
<steev>
i should look at the latest cves
<steev>
my issue with 5.13 is the weird clock things going on
<derzahl>
did you ever figure out what the deal with the hwclock was?
<derzahl>
why cant it be set?

<steev>
nope, no clue :)
<derzahl>
or maybe it can now. i dunno. since i switched to systemd i think it just wrangles it into the right time
<derzahl>
but i had to write a custom init script for openrc
<steev>
nope, it happens on both of mine
<steev>
oh wait
<steev>
the hwclock
<steev>
different clocks sorry :)
<steev>
that is, afaik, a design decision of some sort by qcom. i posted a link to some linaro forum that explained it? maybe it was a lenovo forum?
<derzahl>
oh. ok. not too concerned since it hasnt been an issue with systemd
<derzahl>
it just fixes it
<derzahl>
also i got wifi coming up right away now after setting that fw timeout to 1sec
<steev>
mostly because i always have to look the instructions up
<macc24>
PSA: do not store your duets with keyboard attachment at bottom as the fabric on it isn't attached as well to rest of keyboard's chassis as it could be

<steev>
ah crud
<steev>
new gpsd release in debian
<bamse>
i really should polish the gpsd patches so we get the qualcomm support in there some day...
<steev>
si
<steev>
but you have quite a lot on your plate
<derzahl>
so what do all these net ipa commits actually do?
<derzahl>
just small tweaks?
<derzahl>
is it ipa like "freeipa"? not sure if that would even be in the kernel
<steev>
i may have gone a bit overboard, but i basically pulled in all of the ipa changes between 5.12 and 5.13
<bamse>
derzahl: some of them fix bugs, a whole bunch of them adds support for ipa in additional platforms...and then there's the one patch which enables ipa on the c630

5.13.8 no change. i should try 5.14, but i'm kinda scared to
<steev>
but in good news, i took the rest of the week off, so i can actually play with the flex 5g stuff bamse :D
