<nullbyt> Is it possible to control the fan speed on the Surface Laptop 7? I'd like to manually increase the fan speed whenever the laptop gets too warm.

<JensGlathe[m]> Did you use the type-c ports? They work, type-a doesn't (yet)
<konradybcio> nullbyt: the linux driver only has a read-speed op.. it'd be better to ask qzed

<JensGlathe[m]> not yet to my knowledge
<JosDehaes[m]> on my yoga, all USB C ports work (there are no other ports)
<tobhe_> USB-A also doesn't work on my T14s

<Nordkreisler[m]> Test
<kalebris> working :)
<Nordkreisler[m]> That's fine, but older dialogs doesn't load.
<travmurav[m]> this is an irc portal, you will only see new messages after you have joined. For the backloog see i.e. https://oftc.irclog.whitequark.org/aarch64-laptops/
<kalebris> or use znc
<Nordkreisler[m]> Aahh, I see. Thanks to inform me.
<kalebris> or other irc bouncer
<travmurav[m]> also note that some rich text matrix featrues get bridged to irc weirdly so may want to avoid deletions/edits/replies/reactions
<Nordkreisler[m]> Okay, Thanks.
<travmurav[m]> and rich text formatting itself in many cases, bridge likes to just drop a link to "pastebin" with a message if it has no idea how to irc-fy it , but in most cases it works fine

<abelvesa> tobhe: the USB-A ports on T14s are connected to the multi port controller
<abelvesa> tobhe: soc support is already merged, T14s specific bits are under works
<tobhe> thanks for the update abelvesa!
<tobhe> did you also get your hands onto a 64GB T14s by any chance? I am trying to figure out a usb-c issue on that one

<steev> konradybcio: on the c630 I get
<konradybcio> sdm845, i'm not even mad, i'm just disappointed
<steev> i don't know what any of that means :( but i do know it means it doesn't boot heh
<konradybcio> "the smmu tried to do address translation, but got something like a null pointer (because it doesn't seem to be capable of coherent pagetable walking after all)"
<Jasper[m]> no pointers, pagetable empty
<konradybcio> trying to read the pagetable before the data has arrived sounds like a bad idea, yes
<steev> i blame the lenovo firmware
<steev> erm
<steev> the first reboot after (which should have booted into a kernel without your patchset, oddly enough, booted to initramfs with the same error)
<steev> that was odd
<steev> rebooting again and it was fine
<steev> i'll see about testing on sc8180x too, it's just a pita because something late in the 6.11 rc seems to have broken remote procs on the yoga and the flex, the remote procs seem to load fine, but the wifi is busted on both

<steev> konradybcio: i think the flex might do the same thing (sc8180x) - i see a message about (IDR0.CTTW overridden by FW config) in its mmu output too (haven't tested the patch yet)
