Is there documentation on how to port a certain Linux dist regardless if it's Arch based or not to Silicon based devices?

probably stuff like u-boot and m1n1 from fedora would Just Work, but the kernel and the stuff around updating eeverything/bootloader would need tweaking

Custom kernel is one thing, but mainline means confirmed support for the public I think.
