AndrewYu: disclaimer -- I'm not sure if this is the best way (or it even works) but you can get into the u-boot shell. You should just press <space> as soon as you see the u-boot icon
<sid-linux>
When you are in u-boot you might be able to to do more things -- perhaps put in a USB drive with a recovery kernel etc. and boot that. Again, this is something I have not tried with Asahi so your mileage may vary. (The usual warnings apply: when you are doing something low level you should be careful not to mess up things further.)
<sid-linux>
You can also try entering the grub command line and try your luck from there. grub is probably more user friendly also.
<sven>
wrong channel I guess
<sid-linux>
sven: yes, I did consider that it was wrong channel when responding -- but didn't want to discourage AndrewYu.
<sven>
no, you’re responding in the wrong channel
<sid-linux>
argh!
<sven>
he asked the question in #asahi but you’re replying in #asahi-dev and isn’t even in here
<sid-linux>
my sincere appologies
<sid-linux>
my bad
<marcan>
pushed kernel -12 with a fixed missing ethernet alias which broke the MAC address on the Mac Studio
<marcan>
jannau: if you still have ALARM on your Ultra, can you confirm it fixes it? (I just wiped mine and put Fedora on it, haven't tried a Fedora kernel build yet)

marcan: always excited to install the new edge kernels. I was wondering if we could just have a 2-3 line commit message with the tag that says what was new/fixed with the kernel in the PKGBUILDs directory or the asahi linux git
<sid-linux>
currently i try to do a `git diff` with the tags to see what might have changed...

alright, looks like usb connected at boot works again with the new tipd code. can’t test if hotplug also works because I don’t have a motor to plug/unplug usb :D
<maz>
sven: we should definitely add that functionality! :D
