<X3r0>
greetings, I saw a little while back that the Linux kernel now has M1 support; I haven't been able to keep up and follow, but what's the progress of the GPU?
<jannau>
the hypervisor in m1n1 is implemented and marcan has started to trace various display subsystem parts
<X3r0>
I wonder if the ex Apple employees moving to Qualcomm have any insights to internal GPU specs since it's rummored they're going to be help develop Qualcomms iteration of ARM
<sven>
they'd still be under NDAs and couldn't share those with anyone
<j_ey>
yeah, probably better they stay away :P
<sven>
yeah
<X3r0>
sven: yes NDAs but *experience* alternatives

<jbowen>
X3r0: there's also #asahi-gpu :)
<X3r0>
jbowen: oh thanks, I'm on webchat after doing a search for the redirect from the twitter post, so I wasn't aware of which channels were on this network, and hadn't bothered looking
<X3r0>
jbowen: you know if there is an #asshi on libre.chat as well?
<X3r0>
er Libera.Chat
<X3r0>
after the dispersal of freenode it's a cluster f* trying to figure out where everyone went
<opticron>
the move post-freenode of asahi IRC channels was exclusively to OFTC (officially)
<opticron>
those channels might exist on libera, but the devs are here
<sorear>
out of 20+ communities I was in half went to OFTC (which I've been on for years since all the kernel porting stuff was here), half went to libera, and one had the admins just decide to shut down IRC in favor of matrix without going through their established RFC process
<sorear>
not really _that_ many places to look
<opticron>
yeah, mine were about the same
<opticron>
one shut down IRC in favor of discord and another in favor of slack
<opticron>
the thing about slack is they still want everything to be invite-only, so it makes it hard to bring in new people and have an open community
<opticron>
unless you have some integrations for that
