Is there anything in the freedesktop specification about where to put .desktop files in order for them to be displayed on the Desktop? The basedir-spec doesn't mention desktop at all.

daniels, Mithrandir: hey, have you seen the IP abbuse report? It seems that it is coming from annarchy, not gabe. Could it be that we have someone either doing that kind of DDos from annarchy or exploiting the apache server there?

bentiss: I think jrayhawk responded to it. There's no evidence of any ddos there, though. It's a bunch of RSTs to a SYN.
