whot: after noticing a spam issue that was not deleted, I looked at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/freedesktop/freedesktop/-/issues/548 and it lists a bunch of spam issues that have not been deleted, but (mostly) only recently; is that a change on purpose, or is the 'delete' part not working anymore and should be looked into?

eric_engestrom: the Spam label doesn't actually delete the user/issue, it just blocks and hides them. you need to run damspam purge-spammers with an admin token to actually purge them. figured removing a user completely just based on a label was a tad risky, so there's a two-step process
<whot>
sigh, the akismet spam detection is now 99.9% false positives, I really wonder if that's still useful...
<karolherbst>
whot: but do all rejections go there? Because it felt like that users got their edit marked as spam and not getting listed there, as I had some users asking about it and I was like "huh.. I don't see anything in the logs"
<whot>
I don't know for sure. we have a job to mark users as trusted after a while but even trusted users get caught by the spam filters for reasons unknown
<karolherbst>
mhhh... yeah...
<karolherbst>
maybe we should disable it and see how bad it really gets?
<whot>
yeah, I think we discussed that a few months ago but never got around to it
<whot>
not something I'd want to do on a friday though :)
