smaeul: Hi, I fixed up the Cortex SMPEN bit to be in the SPL only, verified that is landed there and only there, and test-booted on BPi-M1 and OPi-Zero
<apritzel>
smaeul: can you briefly check that this works for you? I pushed the whole thing to sunxi/master (including the F1C100s series)
<smaeul>
sure
<smaeul>
apritzel: boot test on Opi+2E works ro me
<smaeul>
s/ro/for/
<apritzel>
smaeul: great, many thanks!

<ndufresne>
sounds quite niche
<ndufresne>
aggi: only clang and gcc are officially supported

ndufresne: meanwhile talked to gentoo devs, and they agreed tcc isn't trivial to compile GNU/Linux with
<aggi>
besides, u-boot loader, which is at least as important as any kernel
<anarsoul>
aggi: but why do you need to compile it with tcc?
<aggi>
anarsoul: 1) it's fast 2) C99 compliance 3) to fully remove GCC and llvm from my system 4) i want to
<anarsoul>
well, good luck :)

had a vodka already, after linux kernel failed today

for those with nothing better to do ;), fosdem is alive: chat.fosdem.org

libv: "Your browser can't run Element" question is whether I can upgrade to Slackware 15.0 quick enough ;-)
<libv>
whut?
<libv>
you are actually using slackware?
<libv>
why? ;p
<apritzel>
libv: wait, are there other distros? :-D
<libv>
apritzel: guess what, they stopped using tarballs ;o
<libv>
i really thought it had fallen completely by the wayside
<libv>
i hadn't heard anyone mention slack in more than a decade
<apritzel>
no no, the other user and me are still using it ;-)
<libv>
:)
<libv>
now i can look down on you
<libv>
you actually are using a more ancient browser than i am
<libv>
as i think i am on debian stable on the machine i am running fosdem on atm
<apritzel>
Firefox 68.12.0esr (64-bit)
<libv>
how are you able to use anything still?
<libv>
78.15.0esr :)
<apritzel>
I find it just sad that so many websites require certain browser versions, for mostly stupid reasons. I can see why Netflix might, but a chat?
<libv>
apritzel: there's a reason why we are in here, and not in some java or webcrap channel
<libv>
and tbh, i do not want to know why, life is sad enough without such knowledge already
<apritzel>
agreed
<apritzel>
so many other things to fix ...
<libv>
things we actually care about
<libv>
there's not _that_ much at fosdem that is sunxi related though
<aggi>
netsurf browser is neat, the last line of defense at the web frontline
<aggi>
although, netsurf, it's RISC OS, somehow related to ARM

and since it was decided that for 2020 there would be a bootloader devroom, and the embedded devroom likes to grab all other hw bringup talks, there will be no hw enablement devroom any more
<apritzel>
aggi: did I mention that I *love* modern compilers, though? :-D
