<stintel>
Borromini: did you get your EAP615 yet? :P
<Borromini>
stintel: nope :(
<stintel>
damn :/
<Borromini>
yeah
gladiac has joined #openwrt-devel
<Borromini>
i bricked my EAP235's as well... cherry-picking a more recent mt76 (not the latest, no MT7663 related commits) from master
<Borromini>
that SOIC clip has paid itself back multiple times now =)
<Borromini>
driver compiled fine, but after flashing no-no
GNUmoon has joined #openwrt-devel
<stintel>
ouch
<stintel>
so you didn't manage to get it working again?
<Borromini>
my soldering skill is still zero, so just wedging in pins didn't get me functional serial. but dumping the flash and replacing the firmware range with a master build fixed it
<stintel>
ahh ok
<Borromini>
btw i thought the freeze was gonna be March 20th? or did i misread that. because aparcar sent out an e-mail about it already
<stintel>
no, the freeze was planned for 1/03
<Borromini>
ok my bad thanks.
<stintel>
followed by a ~3w stabilization period before branching
<Borromini>
i think i'm going to keep buying NOR flash devices =)
ecloud has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<stintel>
or NOR+NAND combined with bootloader in NOR
<Borromini>
true but then you'd still need functional serial
<Borromini>
i don't know what it is but TP-Links never do well on that front here
<stintel>
serial is fine on EAP235 and EAP615 though
<stintel>
OC200 .. different story :P
<Borromini>
:P
<Borromini>
well i got no further than garbage on my screen and no interaction
<stintel>
I made a hole in one of my EAP615's housing so the serial header is usable without having to open the unit :P
<Borromini>
yes, svanheule did the same for the one I sent him for porting <3
ecloud has joined #openwrt-devel
<Borromini>
but that happened to be the only one *not* in production :P
<Borromini>
how is the mt76 driver for you?
<stintel>
works amazingly well
<Borromini>
the master one feels snappier on the EAP235, but it also craps out way more frequently than on 21.02 unfortunately...
<mangix>
Borromini: same here
<mangix>
works amazingly well
<Borromini>
mangix: you got ax as well? or on ac radios?
<mangix>
ax
<Borromini>
o
<Borromini>
* ok
<stintel>
my corp macbook is connected to one of the eap615, only yesterday I had some minor issues on zoom
<mangix>
I think ax works amazing because Mediatek develops the driver.
<Borromini>
MediaTek guys repeatedly said they had nothing to do with MT7613 development... makes you wonder who did then, though
<Borromini>
someone needed to design that neutered silicon :-/
<stintel>
and connection hangs sometimes on my ax200 laptop
<stintel>
but I think that might be related to usteer telling it to fuck off to the other AP
<stintel>
and NetworkManager not properly handling that
<mangix>
wait a minute.... mt7915 supports 6ghz?
<Borromini>
i haven't looked into usteer yet
<stintel>
but I've been doing telegram and signal calls on my phone, walking between my 2 floors, roaming from one EAP615 to the other during the call
<Borromini>
should do that though
<Borromini>
stintel: would you mind sharing your /etc/config/wireless?
<stintel>
darn I just nuked it from gists :P
<Borromini>
i've turned the wireless docs upside down but i'm still unsure at what's supposed to be best practice concerning roaming etc
<stintel>
I'm actually going to uncomment the airtime stuff
<stintel>
I really wonder why the esp32-c6 is still nowhere to be found
<stintel>
soon it'll be a year since they announced it
rua has quit [Quit: Leaving.]

stintel: are you running any realtek stuff on OpenWrt btw?
<stintel>
yes
<Borromini>
RTL838x? stable on master?
<stintel>
r18660-5bd926efa9 on gs108t-v3
<Borromini>
ok
<Borromini>
after the code dump and seeing how shaky RTL930x was i've steered clear from master on any of mine
<stintel>
hmmmz
<stintel>
I thought I updated to a newer version
<Borromini>
but everything in production here is plain RTL838x
<stintel>
ahhh
<stintel>
I realize my mistake
<stintel>
I have a script to scp the images to the correct devices
<stintel>
like "owrt.sh gs108"
<stintel>
but since the overhaul the image location is different so I just flashed an old image :/
<Borromini>
ah yeah no more realtek-generic
<stintel>
building for the gs108t-v3 now
<stintel>
if I start cursing in 15 minutes you know what time it is :P
<Borromini>
xD
<Borromini>
but you already soldered that one no? :P
<Borromini>
i remember your rant about the gs108t-v3 :)
rua has joined #openwrt-devel
<stintel>
ehrm not sure, I broke one because the hole were closed and don't have desoldering equipment in Belgium
<Borromini>
yeah i just kept the headers onto the solder with my finger while rescueing it the one time I needed it :P
<Borromini>
pesky managament vlans

<Borromini>
ah =)
<Borromini>
my GS1900-8HP v1 still works as well, but the PoE daemon is being weird
<Borromini>
at a certain point it stopped working on OpenWrt, OEM still works just fine though

I was looking for a location provider in uqmi several days ago and found nothing in the recent master (of openwrt)...
<aiyion>
I intended to add such a provider this weekend, only to find oskari lemmela did that already - in march 2018.
<aiyion>
what is needed to push that project in openwrt a few more commits near 2022?
<aiyion>
I found Matti Laakso to be the pkg_maintainer, but thats only true for the project, not for its usage in openwrt, right?
<aiyion>
My bad, I found the issue. I was not on master -.-' Sorry for the noise.
