How do I summon six reviewers with write access?
Slimey has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<Mangix>
Christophe[m]1: you don't. It's a stupid rule that assumes there are that many people.
<KanjiMonster>
I assume this is just to prevent accidental merging via the github gui
goliath has joined #openwrt-devel
<Mangix>
KanjiMonster: based on the number of open PRs, I don't think there are any
<KanjiMonster>
Mangix: no, I mean the rule is just there to prevent the merge button from being usable. So devs don't merge to github by accident. In the expectation that there never will be 6 reviewers

anyone around with a device using "mac-address-ascii"?
<rmilecki>
i need a tester :)
<stintel>
hmmm, dap-2695 seems to have mac addr in ascii but still uses mtd_get_mac_ascii
<stintel>
let me see if I can convert it first

lol got distracted while searching for an RJ45 serial adapter
<dwfreed>
stintel: in the past I've used ones from monoprice that let me do the pinout however I wanted; however, monoprice is probably not available in your country
<dwfreed>
had separate ones for cisco and APC

ah I have only Cisco compatible equipment
<stintel>
that reminds me I should order a load of USB to RJ45 for in my rack
<stintel>
should have done that years ago :P
<rmilecki>
[announcement] DT property "mac-address-increment" should not be needed anymore, please try to avoid it for new DT files

<rmilecki>
"mac-base" is upstream accepted binding

Is there a reason why e2fsprogs and f2fs-tools are installed by default in squashfs images?
<tmn505>
what's the target You are on?

mediaatek/filogic

<tmn505>
Christophe[m]1: bpi-r3 has eMMC and that's typical block device, there overlay is created with ext4 or f2fs, so You'll need tools to be present to do that.
<csharper2005>
rmilecki: I've seen your mail regarding replace "mac-address-ascii" with "mac-base". My congrats!
<csharper2005>
Would you like me test suggested patch on tp-link ec330?
<csharper2005>
Can we use the negative values? For example: nvmem-cells = <&macaddr_factory_4 -2>;
<rmilecki>
csharper2005: yes (please test) and yes (negative should be fine)
<rmilecki>
csharper2005: th syntax is probably <&macaddr_factory_4 (-2)>
<rmilecki>
(with round braces)
<Christophe[m]1>
tmn505: Isn't the overlay file system jffs2 by default? But if these packages are target specific I'm not complaining, filogic devices have more than enough storage.
<tmn505>
jffs2 is mostly used on NOR flash and somtime on NAND flash, on block devices it's f2fs or ext4 for a long time already.

okay, thx

yes separate bug reports sounds right
