tobhe changed the topic of #ubuntu-asahi to: Ubuntu-Asahi development | Github: https://github.com/UbuntuAsahi | Logs: https://oftc.irclog.whitequark.org/ubuntu-asahi
<tobhe[m]> that should be in debian or at least in the queue
<tobhe[m]> not yet
<tobhe[m]> some dependencies still seem to be missing
<tobhe[m]> but we can do that differently in Ubuntu
<tobhe[m]> because we accept vendoring
<john-cabaj[m]> As an aside, are there any good Element mobile apps? Webpage is tedious on mobile.
<tobhe[m]> element itself is available as a mobile app
<tobhe[m]> there is element x which is the beta version of an element rewrite
<tobhe[m]> not sure how usable that is
<tobhe[m]> fluffychat also seems ok

<popey> fluffychat is good on mobile, but I find it a bit painful on desktop. I don't believe there are any really decent matrix clients tbh
<popey> Just tried https://app.cinny.in/ which is quite clean

<patricus> can I use this ubuntu asahi remix with screenreader, and have installed the mate desktop after the install?
<tobhe[m]> I haven't tried that but I think it might work. mate is xorg i think so it might not work as well as wayland because upstream focuses on wayland support
<tobhe[m]> in reality xorg worked fine so far whenever I tried
<patricus> wayland is getting on my way, pun intended, so I can't use that, it even refuses to work at all most of the time with most apps which would work fine under xorg. but I would want the installer to support xorg and mate so I can install that.

<tobhe_> Ubuntu Mate support might be something we offer at some point but we need to sync with the mate team first
<tobhe_> ideally someone from their community would help us test and fix things
