ChanServ changed the topic of #aarch64-laptops to: Linux support for AArch64 Laptops (Asus NovaGo TP370QL - HP Envy x2 - Lenovo Mixx 630 - Lenovo Yoga C630)
<mothenjoyer69> jenneron: did you ever have any success with the Galaxy Book S battery? attempting to get the battery on the galaxy book go 5g going
<quinine> I think the temperature of my x13s is a bit high, is this normal?
<quinine> > ath11k_hwmon-pci-60100
<quinine> Adapter: PCI adapter
<quinine> temp1: +46.0°C
<clover[m]> I think so. mine is at 33 C
<clover[m]> i think its a bit high
<quinine> 🤔
<clover[m]> do you have latest linux-firmware / kernel / BIOS firmware?
<clover[m]> do you have the X13s board file, board-2.bin installed?
<clover[m]> are you using steev's "make it hotter" patch?
<quinine> firmware is aarch64-firmware#commit=9f07579ee64aba56419cfd0fbbca9f26741edc90, kernel is 6.4 rc4 branch of steev, bios I think is the latest
<quinine> clover[m]: What is this?
<clover[m]> no 6.4 rc5? you get sweet, sweet fingerprint reader with it :)
<clover[m]> steev are you still making it hawt or did you stop applying that patch to your kernels?
<quinine> I don't use fingerprints, so I haven't updated.
<clover[m]> the important one to run cooler is the board-2.bin
<clover[m]> you also get 5ghz wifi from it
<quinine> I think I already have it
<quinine> > ec35fd42fab6738298e31c1b05db0313decb9788ad7bc0afe5955edf /usr/lib/firmware/ath11k/WCN6855/hw2.0/board-2.bin
<quinine> sha224sum
<clover[m]> that's the one
<steev> i dropped the patch a while back since people were complaining, at least what i push out, though since we're starting to hit our 90+F days here... i might as well
<clover[m]> then this should show >=5Ghz
<steev> clover[m]: he wouldn't have wifi if he wasn't using that already
<clover[m]> oh ok
<steev> we aren't carrying the wifi hack along anymore either
<steev> i'm currently sitting at 35C here for my ath11k, what are the rest of your temps at quinine ?
<clover[m]> for the record i never complained
<clover[m]> that's where i cook my eggs
<HdkR> But what if I complain now that it is missing? :P
<steev> i need to put my new sticker on mine
<quinine> steev: ath11k? It generally stays at 47C
<clover[m]> Ignore the hairy creature
<steev> no, i mean the rest of your temps
<steev> there should be 7 temperature sensors reported
<steev> not ath11k only
<steev> nah, mine is a bit bigger than that clover[m] :) https://bootstees.com/products/fck-putin-26926
<quinine> skin_temp_thermal-virtual-0... (full message at <https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/RcoBdTQnTCVRIhaUpaAcludh>)
<steev> the rest of them are in line with fairly idle... are you doing anything through the wifi?
<steev> HdkR: well it's available in other branches still, just not the newer ones
<quinine> No, I don't think there is anything special about wifi
<HdkR> steev: Yea, I'm sure I can find it and reapply once I feel like updating :P
<steev> i mean are you transfering a file or anything
<quinine> steev: no
<steev> i'd try either moving back to 6.3.6 or bump to 6.4-rc5
<clover[m]> Steev how hard would it be to make LED breathe on suspend
<HdkR> Or is the ambient temp in the room also approaching 40C? :D
<steev> clover[m]: you're asking the wrong person
<steev> but afaik, not easy since we can't directly talk to the ec like you can with the x86 ones
<quinine> HdkR: 🤣
<quinine> I think the room temps is around 30C
<steev> 30C in room...
<steev> it's still 31C outside here... but 21 inside
<quinine> I tried to turn off network and bluetooth, the temp still rises to 45C
<quinine> So probably not related to ath11k

<cenunix[m]> I will have a guide for installing NixOS soon. Considering how long it took me to finally get it lol. Thanks to everyone and especially clover for helping me limp to the finish line

<clover[m]> <cenunix[m]> "I will have a guide for installi..." <- What systemd-boot version are you on? You can do bootctl -v
<cenunix[m]> Ah am using grub
<clover[m]> You have systemd installed or no?
<clover[m]> I know you were getting same issue as me of sd-boot failing so I wanted to check the version

<cenunix[m]> Yeah systemd is installed but using grub as boot loader. I can check which version of systemd-boot failed though, gotta wait until I get back to the x13s.

<steev> and debian 12 is out :D
<steev> also, because i *think* johan reads the backlog (but he may not) - the main reason i don't just base on top of yours is that i suck at git. the other reason is, i have no idea how else to rebase to apply a v3 of something once you pull it in

<cenunix[m]> clover: I get systemd 253 (253.3) which I’m assuming is the version, there’s more output after that but not sure if you’re looking for that stuff
<cenunix[m]> Btw, I’m getting all the firmware loaded on Nixos now. After some trial and error I finally got a690_gmu.bin loading and so kde is now up and running
