I've booted Fedora rawhide image now that I've got a larger usb stick. Does anyone know how I run the installer from that image to install to nvme? Running anaconda didn't seem like being run in an existing graphical environment
<KieranBingham[m]>
(on the x13s of course)
<Jasper[m]>
<KieranBingham[m]> "I've booted Fedora rawhide image..." <- rawhide also has ISO's like f40 has
<Jasper[m]>
If you want to install it, use one of those
<KieranBingham[m]>
... I suspect that makes the most sense now. 5th image written to this usb stick today :-) making good use of the new 64gb usb-c stick I bought today
<KieranBingham[m]>
(I'll have to wait until I get my laptop back from my son playing Minecraft though :-) )

Ok - rawhide image installed. Including a full wipe of the nvme drive this time to clean up all the previous installations mess. I assumed that will remove the dtb in the esp, so I've recopied that over successfully I think. But I've enabled the FDE option on install. Do I need to do any specific steps to regenerate initramfs correctly or such ? (I saw the installer specfically mention it was being generated) .... I'm going to
<KieranBingham[m]>
reboot and see what happens ... eeek
<KieranBingham[m]>
Well, hopefully I'm finally here. A rawhide set up installed. Hopefully it 'stays' installed long enough for me to start on the camera next ;-)

<KieranBingham[m]>
Reboots including a nice GUI for the FDE to enter a password ...
<KieranBingham[m]>
Tips for anyone else trying this. Buy a fresh/big/fast USB-C memory stick ;-)
<KieranBingham[m]>
(And don't go down all the dead-end paths I went down ;-D )
<jglathe_volterra>
good advice. I have combined USB-A/USB-C sticks for testing
<abby>
i was able to do things fine with a usb3 A stick and an otg adapter

I had too many issues earlier in the week with A) usb sticks being old/slow/too small, then B) trying to convert through from USB-A -> USB C, or C) failing with an SD card going through a USB-A SD Card reader to USB-C convertor. .... Way too much messing about when I could order a USB stick that has A + C for £7 :-)
