ive been running it for a while now with no dramas

until the latest kde update but that might be something weird in my environment

chadmed: I'm still on asahi-6.2-11, kwin 5.26.5 and the tagged asahi mesa. only issue is an apparently buffer leak resulting in kwin crashes every couple of days

jannau: ack. latest plasma seems borked. ill try downgrade to stable keyworded plasma and see if that helps

the error was related to gamma blobs so i think theyve broken the colour correction stuff

chadmed: kwin 5.27.3 or git after that? did you disable night color? the gamma blob errors should be only fatal if they happen while the display is off

jannau: 5.27.3, and yeah i disabled night colour when we were debugging the issue with the screen not coming back on

im downgrading to stable (5.26.5) now to see if that fixes it

given that firefox, glxgears, libreoffice and other stuff still works im pretty confident its a plasma issue

well it wasnt plasma, its not mesa and its not the kernel

lucky these machines are fast and bootstrapping a rootfs only takes a couple of hours

it might be portage not liking that i installed mesa from git at one point to debug? but i cleaned it out...

not using it myself but i think last time someone asked this the answer was install asahi-repos-edge

dunno then. since it is called repos it could be that this just activates the edge repo so it could be that you need to run a full package upgrade and reboot
