Hi everyone, I have a problem when I try to install Asashi on my macbook air m1.

The problem is : Resize failed. This is usually caused by pre-existing APFS filesystem corruption. Carefully read the diskutil logs above for more information about the cause. This can usually be solved by doing a First Aid repair from Disk Utility in Recovery Mode.

Wanted to report back after my Gentoo troubles, I have been on NixOS since, and it's been smooth sailing. Was totally just me not knowing how to kernel, but it's living in a swarm, updating great. Thanks tpw for all that you do <3

I didn't seen that was that in French, but yes I tried to restart my computer, and use the Disk Utility and clic on SOS for try to repair something

Looking forward to the day when I can encode on the media engine in it under Linux, but the CPU is a champ and taking care of it anyways.

when i either quit this shithouse job or get a new one i will have more mental energy to work on sorting out releng integration but for now just follow the guide on the asahi wiki

as i said when im less burnt out and have a better job (hopefully within a few months if i can help it) i will continue working on improving the integration. my goal is to have both a "native" gentoo version of the asahi installer AND spin out a livecd image that we can boot directly from u-boot

i kinda sorta got halfway there with the latter (i made the iso but couldnt get it to boot, probably something im doing wrong with catalyst) and i think leio got the former mostly working too

arm64 is very well supported, and for anything that isnt you can just unmask it, try build it, then file a KEYWORD bug and get it supported very quickly

Dam I updated and it's 14.1 my mbp is affected by the 14.1 bug from Apple. Should I wait to install asahi ?

idk about gentoo install but I upgraded to 14.1 and nothing bad happened with already installed alpine linux

you should be fine so long as you keep promotion enabled. if the installer doesnt outright ban you from installing just make sure you do not disable promotion (ever)
